Big popcorn can ??

You know those big kind that have 3 different kinds of popcorn in them. I have a couple I want to put plants on tops of. But I want to cover what is on them now. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do? Thanks!

hmmm....
could you stuff the bottom of the can with newspaper - then set the plant inside the pot inside the can so the top of the pot and the top of the can line up???
Or did you want it to set higher off the can??

I was thinking of putting it on top of the can on lid. But, that's a thought of how you mentioned also. Still wondering how to cover the scene on the can though. I don't want a Christmas can sitting out all year.

You could use fabric, either draped over it like a tablecloth or paste it on.
Contact paper the can.
There is a paint you can buy for metal. It's kind of a primer and then you could paint it any color or design you want.

I don't know if it works on metal...you'd have to ask at the home improvememt store but I think it'd look neat if you used some of that "stone" look paint...the stuff that's like textured? Then it might look like a plant stand made of stone??

In my younger days, I did just what you suggested with one-pound coffee cans. I then used those cans and some boards I'd painted to make a bookshelf. I was pretty darn proud of that thing. It looked g-o-o-d, if I do say so myself. I'd forgotten all about it till I saw your note.

if you can find paint that will stick to metal, try buying stencils and stencilling a design on the can. You can also decoupage paper pictures or cut outs from cards or napkins or whatever. Just coat the can with Modge-Podge (an adhesive/sealer) then stick the paper cut outs down and seal with more Modge-Podge. Using decoupage, you can make themed collages for the bucket, depending on what room it will be in. You can cover it by glueing on strips of ribbon of various widths and textures or you can even cover it with pictures printed on inexpensive or matte photo paper.
