I imagine it will make its way to WDW before too long...
There is a different attitude to the guests held by the Disneyland management than by the WDW management.

Although no offical numbers are released, it's thought that the number of Disneyland annual passholders is creeping towards one million. There are tens of thousands of people that go to Disneyland at least once of months, thousands of people that go one or more times a year. Even the average, normal Southern California (i.e., a non-passholder) goes about every year or so.

Anyplace, even Disneyland, gets stale if you go that often. It begins to feel like the local mall. So Disneyland has a big incentive to make constant small changes just to keep people renewing their passports every year. And the public responds to those changes. The annual Halloween and Holiday decorations are huge hits, even new shows can drive hordes of APer's into the park (and hopefully bring their wallets).

Disney World, however, thinks differnetly. They are, after all, Disney World. They don't have anywhere near the percetange of hyper-frequent visitors that Disneyland has. So there is less need for change. People take their sweet time between visits, and WDW still has a good percentage of first time visitors who see everything as if it was brand new.

And WDW's own frequnet guests are of a differnet breed. At Disneyland, you have to renew your pass every year; but those DVC owners have been sucked into fifty years, cash up front. WDW pretty much counts those people as coming back no matter what they decide to present. DVC owners are trapped. That's why you're seeing decisions like cancelling the Bear Band Country show, fewer decorations around the parks and less "plussing" in general.

WDW doesn't think they have to earn your repeat business. Why spend the money if you're going to show up anyway?

MJM, the pirates theme for the TSI is based on Tom and Huck's pirates games... whatever they are....

I figured it was a POTC thing. I'm just sort of glad its not.

As for your post AV, I agree with your analysis. But my understanding is the redo at TSI is nothing major. I would think a few pirate items will makes its way to WDW's version just for the pub.
