Hmmm, I love the idea and hope they roll it out while/before we're there. However, I wonder what that will do to 4th FP availability.

I haven't ever tried to add a 4th FP+, might try to do it next Sunday night. So I am assuming you have to be at the park you want to add it for right?

We were in a testing group for Magic Bands during our last trip, before the official roll out. We loved the MagicBands and FP+, though we were also able to use the Legacy FP machines to pull paper fast passes since we were in a relatively small group testing the bands. The Story Maker feature is something we were most excited about being added back then (although it was obviously not in effect at the time). I am so excited to learn that they may finally be adding that feature in time for our upcoming trip!

So excited! We decided a couple of weeks ago when we were there that the 4th FP just wasn't worth it after waiting in line behind a woman who took over 15 minutes doing who knows what at that kiosk. Everyone in line behind her was irate.

It makes no sense for people who know what they want and know how to use the system to have to wait behind those who have never even looked at an attraction list and who have no idea how to use the kiosks. The whole 4th FP+ kiosk thing always seemed ridiculous.

This will probably make those morning FP+ reservations even harder to come by, though.

I like StoryMaker, but I am not sure I would pay more for it. I hope that is not how it works.

The additional fastpass thing is essentially useless...

They don't have nearly enough rides to gobble up the people...let's cut to the bone...which means same day is of minor use at best

There are plenty of days where you can get some good additional FPs. Of course you're not getting mine train or Anna and Elsa but could you get one of the mountains or buzz. I don't think it's useless, I never wanted to go wait at a kiosk for my 4th FP but I will definitely do it on my phone.

yay! we always get a couple more FPs after we use up our first three at Magic Kingdom. It will be oh-so-nice to whip out our phones for this! Also, I know everyone on the rumors/news threads freaks out when the "M" word is invoked, but I'm excited for the extra special feelings that will come along with Story Maker.

Has anyone figured out if you have to wait to book until you are in the park your are booking for? Or can you book for EPCOT immediately after scanning your 3rd in MK, for example?

Not known right now. That will probably come out when the app update comes out and people start using it.

Have never used the 4th fast pass option, heck, about 1/3 of the time, we never keep our original fast pass times. But, I was under the impression that any additional fast passes you obtained after the first three had to be in the same park. Can you get the additional fast passes for other parks now?

Once you use your first three you can go to another park and get a fourth but that has to be done at a kiosk in that second park for now.

I have used up to 6 fastpass plus all before 5pm. This was through FP+. I mean we weren't riding Space Mountain or 7DMT. But we got the additional for Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh, and Mad Tea Party. With the original fastpasses being, 7DMT, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain. It is all about timing and knowing how to use the machines and now the app. We could have pulled an extra Big Thunder or Space for later into the night too. But left the park.

...for me however...it's too much planning in an already over planned day.

This will be better.
Our 4th fastpass strategy - walk by kiosk if less than 2 ppl in line get in line. Select first fastpass that shows up. Leave.
Log into phone - you can now freely modify or change 4th fastpass from phone.
Rinse and repeat with 5-8.
Worked very well. We'd use fastpass to avoid 20+min lines. Walk up see a line. Log into app. Select fastpass that starts immediately. Walk onto ride.

Being able to start that from phone will help. Although everyone else doing it won't help either.
I hope they make it a pay feature so you can limit use and abuse.

Yes... there's lots of examples out there of potential use.

Its really just an extension of the 7DMT concept. You never scan your band, you never tell them where you are sitting. But the photos and video show up in your feed. Take that to the next level. Look at Small World "Good Bye" room next time you are on that ride. Some of the signs are now digital... so imagine a sign that says "Good Bye Lee Mathews... AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Or Star Tours rebel spy.. .announcing your name - "We are looking for Lee Mathews - we have reports he's a rebel spy!"

That's part of it yes, there will be even more it can do. This was supposed to be there from the get go it's really not the next evolution.
