Big MyMagic+ news

Now that I am loving the idea of. Hope they get shot of it implemented for September

Yes... there's lots of examples out there of potential use.

Its really just an extension of the 7DMT concept. You never scan your band, you never tell them where you are sitting. But the photos and video show up in your feed. Take that to the next level. Look at Small World "Good Bye" room next time you are on that ride. Some of the signs are now digital... so imagine a sign that says "Good Bye Lee Mathews... AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Or Star Tours rebel spy.. .announcing your name - "We are looking for Lee Mathews - we have reports he's a rebel spy!"

The additional fastpass thing is essentially useless...

They don't have nearly enough rides to gobble up the people...let's cut to the bone...which means same day is of minor use at best
My daughter and I play what we call "fast pass roulette" after we use our first three fast passes. We go to the kiosk and get a FP for the next available attraction that we have visited that day. We have had a lot of fun and been on some attractions we have ignored for while and decided that we had been missing out by ignoring them.....well, except Stitch.....that's just a horrible attraction!

It's a small touch but one I like a lot. I think there's a lot more interactions they could potentially do. It will be interesting to see if maybe this sort of stuff is more embedded into Avatar.

I ask where MyMagic+ will influence Avatar Land, and Rohde turns my attention to the model, which is the size of three Ping-Pong tables. He swirls his finger around a tiny section. This little spot is where MyMagic+ will be put to use, in "the most intensive, interactive moments." What about the area’s two big attractions? "Less so," he adds.

I'm fine with it being part of the general land rather than ride specific. Though I think there are possibilities for both. Really though Disney could add a lot of actual Magic to their parks by putting in these small elements. It's similar to the technology used for Pirates Adventure and Phineas & Ferb which are really fun for kids.

One of the surprising (to me) revelations from that article were how skeptical/tentative the Imagineers have been with MyMagic+ and Magic Bands.

I've wanted high scores from Buzz and Midway Mania on Magic Band for awhile now. Bragging rights!

Yeah that article is over a year old I think now and that was part of the discussion. One thing with imagineering is they are often very stubborn. They don't like when executives come in and say you must do this and they have little say. MyMagic+ is also not seen as a success within the Walt Disney company.
