Big Love watchers

I caught the first ep and haven't decided whether or not I'll continue with the show...I feel like I have enough shows already, almost something every night.

Anyway, I noticed that they not only released last night's ep for On Demand, but they also released next week's ep. I didn't watch last night's, but couldn't help watching next weeks. lol. If you are really into the show and want to see it early, there you go.

Thanks for the info! I'm really liking this show. It kind of reminds me of Six Feet Under. I think Big Love will fill that gap.

I dug up this thread on page 69 - and I gotta say, I'm hooked on this show.

I also miss Six Feet Under, and Big Love, in it's own wacky way, is a good replacement. I hope it lasts. The characters are starting to develop and it's getting more interesting each week.

I like it too. It's very quirky and odd, but I love watching the dynamic between Bill and his 3 wives. The Roman storyline could use some improvement though...it's hard to tell where it's going. Doesn't seem like it can last very long.

Ok.. I am admitting.. that ON DEMAND is a FABULOUS invention...
and.. I watched all 5 Big Love Episodes in 3 days..
In fact my DS who is home from college for the holiday asked if we could watch episode 4 and 5 last night! LOL

I NEVER thought I would find this show interesting... but it is.
Quirky is the best word!

I enjoy all the performances by the woman. Jean Tripplehorn is beautiful, Chloe Sevingey is amazing, Ginnifer Goodwin.. you just want to hug her!

The men.. oh my.. Bruce Dern and Harry Dean Stanton.. BEYOND CREEPY! Great performances...
and Bill Paxton.. LOL.. he does well with his character.. who makes me tired just thinking about all that he is juggling.

I started watching because it was on after The Sopranos. I am totally hooked now! I keep trying to get my husband to watch but he can't stay up that late!

It's growing on me, but gotta admit it didn't grab me from the 1st episode like Six Feet Under, Carnivale, Deadwood, or even Rome.

I do get a kick out seeing how they manage to write in Bill Paxton's hiney or tighty-whiteys each week.

But why don't they have a lawn in their backyard?!?!?

Dh and I started watching....the show is a hoot....My oldest dd's neighbor is LDS and said she has told the neighbors that her church is asking people to boycot HBO because of the nature of the show....I was surprised that the references to LDS are so blatant.

He tossed the bottle during the show last week, so I guess that means he no longer needs them? Or does it just mean the bottle was empty and he was going to pick up the ones he re-ordered???

I don't really understand this. I do not think the show portrays LDS in a negative manner at all. It shows extremists..those who live on the compound...but it is very careful to distance the real Church of LDS from them and even Bill and family.

I actually had no interest in watching the show at first but I was hooked after the first episode.

I don't think so. They showed her "sneaking" what appeared to be birth control pills. I think she's just doing it for attention. Spoiled brat.

I like the show, too, but honestly am confused about the Roman storyline. I missed the pilot episode. Did they explain what is going on in the pilot? Also, Roman is Nikki's dad?

Yes, Roman is Nikki's father.

Nikki is not pregnant. I think what she was saying when she sat the family down was she felt the time was right for her to have another child. It did appear that she was taking BCP, but maybe she just wanted to finish out the pack.

I totally agree. After she figured out that Bill was not "seeing" a 4th wife, I think she realized it was the first wife Barb who was getting all of the attention. I think Nikki just wants Bill's time and this is her way of getting it. So much of the show seems far fetched, but there's not much else I can watch "on demand" to see the episodes if I miss them when they first air!

I'm still a little foggy on the whole Roman thing. If Bill has paid back most of the money, what is hanging over his head? They need to go somewhere quickly with that story line, or start with something else. I almost thought Marjean and Ben were getting kinda "close" playing around in the last episode.
