Big Love premiered last night

I was reading on the hbo forums that maybe Roman was poisoned by someone else and that Joey really didn't kill him in the end. I'm going to take this one step further and say maybe Roman killed himself by taking poison.

Afterall, Adalene did make that call that said Bill (and hence the DA) knew everything and then Roman transferred the "keys" to Bill with that kiss.

Or, maybe it will be a fakeout and old Roman will be back next season, gasping for breath.

Re: Margene - I do think she will be successful. She may not be book smart, but somehow she has good business smarts. I don't even think she can explain it. She helped seal the deal with Weber gaming, then also with the casino and now with the QVC jewelry business.

My husband and I gasped waiting to see who was going to walk through the door (since obviously they were going to kill Roman), but when we saw it was Joey, we both yelled out "Nooo!"

I thought that there was going to be a bomb in the guitar or under the bed! And I never thought it would be Joey coming out of the closet!

Oh we thought that too! I thought maybe Alby had left a surprise there, knowing he would be headed back. And I can't remember who already posted it, but I definitely agree with the fact that that bomb conversation that Nikki had with Alby will come back to haunt her- remember how Roman used tape everyone's conversations...I am sure crazy Alby does too!

I think she is going to make it big and Bill won't be able to stand it that she is successful.
The new problem will be that Margene will gain self-confidence and a self-confident woman will not need or want to be the third wife in a relationship. She'll want to be #1 whether she's in another relationship or she's on her own. She won't need Bill anymore.

I'm on the fence about Roman. I'm not sure whether he'll gasp for air next season or if his death will set off a power struggle between Bill and the Greens for control of the compound... remember, Alby is laid up right now since he was injured with the bomb.

What complex and interesting characters. Such excellent writing.
Was this a book? or an original screenplay?

Ah, where to start.

I really like that Margene told off Bill and let him know that she is no longer the stupid, lost little girl that he had married.

Something is *not right* between Nicki, Alby, and JJ. I'm not quite sure what it is, but a few theories from the HBO.com Big Love message boards include an affair between Alby and JJ (and thus JJ being sent away to Kansas and why the entire family seems to know that Alby is not straight) or that Cara Lynn is actually Nicki and Alby's daughter, not JJ's at all.

"The Church of Dad" has now become a reality.

I really think that Roman knew his time was almost up. I think he chose Bill as his successor, even though he may not have told anyone that. I think that he chose Bill and trusts that their Heavenly Father will work things out here on Earth. You could almost look back on the past three seasons as Roman "testing" Bill, to see if he was worthy of becoming the Prophet someday. We can see that Roman did not want Alby, his own son, to succeed him. By choosing Bill to be the next Prophet, he will restore the power of the Henrickson family, which might make quite a few people happy, and it would also assure that Nicki, Roman's daughter, would still always have a place in the "Big House", thereby assuring that Grant blood will still run through the Prophet's family line.

I don't know what to make of the Greens. We saw Selma reaching out to Roman, her brother, for help in this episode, because she did not like the attention that Hollis was giving to Kim-Lee. It's pretty obvious that Selma wants Hollis all to herself. However, given that Selma has always acted as Hollis' right-hand-man, she herself may wish to try and steal the title of Prophet for herself.

Joey... there's got to be either something *really* good or *really* bad in store for him. He has shown a new-found strength since Kathy was killed, and I could see him acting as co-Prophet with Bill. In the earlier seasons, I would've said that Joey was too nice to become the Prophet, but he has now shown us what he is capable of, and I think that he and Bill ruling Juniper Creek together would be a force to behold. Joey could keep things together on the compound itself, while Bill would still be living out in the suburbs, managing their business affairs, etc.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it on this particular message board or not, but... I honestly doubt that Bill is going to marry Cara Lynn; as Nicki's daughter, she is also now Bill's daughter (they don't seem to use the prefixes "step" and "half" in this show). Cara Lynn isn't going to marry Ben, either; again, same story, Cara Lynn is now his sister.

I wonder if we'll ever hear from Rhonda again. Cara Lynn seems to be filling the void left by Rhonda. And I have a feeling that she will turn out to be every bit as devious as her mother.

I can't wait for season four!!
