~ BIG LOVE on HBO ~ Season 5 ~ Winter 2011

Great episode!!! Loved it!!!

OMG, it was so sad seeing everyone berating them. Even the Boy Scouts.

I am guessing Sara will not be coming back. :sad2:

Albie's wife ... she is one scary lady. :scared:

I was hoping to see Bill's mother last night.

The actress who plays Sara left the show at the end of last season, although I read that she may come back for an episode here and there.

So what do you all think of the latest episodes?

I can't believe how stupid and naive Bill is about his senate seat. The smart thing to do would be to keep his mouth shut, serve for about a year, develop a good record and reputation with his constituents and THEN come out. If he were my senator, I would want him out too. All he seems to care about is advancing the polygamist agenda.

Who do you think is going to get shot by one of the guns, because you know someone will. I'm hoping for Bill, but I bet it will be one of the wives, probably accidentally.

I think by now someone would have found out Margene's true age. As soon as Bill came out, the media would have been all over the story, looking for more dirt.

I wish they wouldn't have given Lois dementia. I enjoy watching both her and Adaleen scheme.

I just have to say my two fav actors on BL is Lois and Nikki! Wow, they bring so much to their character.

I really loved last nights epi.

Who is the father of Rhonda's baby?

What is going on between Barb and her sister?

Is Cora Lynne going to have some relationship with her teacher?

Ugh, I seem to have more questions AFTER the epi …

I'm glad this is the last season of Big Love. Bill has become so unlikable. So much conflict - but of course, that makes the show! None of those women are happy the way things are now.

And what happened to Barb's younger daughter? Tina hasn't been seen at all. Are they just ignoring the fact that she was a part of the family at one time? I think Nikki made mention of her in passing a few episodes ago, but I'm not sure.

It was mentioned she went to go live with Sarah in Portland to keep her out of the public mess. Guess they don't care what the boys have to endure. :rotfl:
I thought last night was a great episode. I'm going to miss the show. I keep hoping they'll change their minds. It's happened before.
So when Barb went to the capitol, did she go to stall them or was she thinking she could be sworn in on Bills behalf? I love what they are doing with her character this year.

It seems to be getting wild. I don't particularly care for Bill's new direction, he seems very arrogant and he is making a lot of enemies. He is becoming "That Guy", nobody likes "That Guy". It seems like their lives are completely unraveling.

Nikki is great as always in this, she is so funny! As mentioned in a previous post there is a lot of talk about guns in this season...I kind of brushed it off before, but now that somebody mentioned it, they could be setting up for somebody being shot. I know in the last season Bill showed them the big house he wanted, a place for them to all live happily ever after. Unfortunately, I don't see that happy ending on the horizon.

I really hope Cara Lynn doesn't have an affair with teacher. It would be nice if they had a more unique storyline for her than teenager fools around with creepy teacher, but as soon as he gave her his home phone number, it was obvious that that is the direction the writers are taking.

Yeah, what happened to that big house? They've acted like that never happened.

I just don't want the end to be one of the wives holding a gun aimed at Bill and then a fade-to-black.

You mean a Saprano ending.........that will make me so mad!

I'm seriously hoping it's Bill. I can't stand the character and I can't stand the actor -- but I love the show.

I don't know but I'm sooooooo happy they brought her back!

I'm not going to read that -- I'm worried I learn something I don't want to yet.

Oh, I didn't realize that. I wondered what had happened to her.

Beside the fact that Rhonda is back, I'm beyond excited that it looks like that they'll continue w/ Albie's homosexual story line. Did anyone else catch the look between Albie and Rhonda's 'husband' when he was leaving Albie's office?

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO What did everyone think of Big Love's Finale?

I was of course in tears!

It ended kind of like I thought. I knew a gun would play a big part, but was surprised with who. We've watched every single episode and knew it wouldn't end well for Bill. He created all his problems and they ended with him. Interesting to see Ben wearing a wedding ring too. And Sara and Scott with a baby is no shock. I thought they might show Tini though.

I actually loved the show finale as much as I hated and despised last season's ending.

They tied everything up and redeemed Bill and gave the wives all a sense of purpose.

I will miss my Big Love fix, but all in all, happy with the way it ended.

I didn't notice that about Ben!

Which Teeny would they use? They had two different actresses. It was a wastEd character, IMO.

What about Anna's baby?!

Lots of loose ends... I guess real life is like that, though. Things don't tie up neatly.

I think I'm ok with the ending as it was. I'm glad he was shot by the only less redeeming character than himself.

When Ben was sitting at the table with Heather talking to Sarah, he had his left hand on the table with the back of his hand towards the camera and he had on a gold band. My DH noticed it too. I don't know, but just mentioning Teeny in an offhanded way was useless as far as I was concerned. Anna's baby was definitely a story line that went absolutely nowhere.

If I can stop crying long enough to process it all. I guess spoilers are a non-issue at this point.

I really did not want to see Bill go to prison convicted of that dreaded word. However, his fate absolutely shocked me. I do not completely understand what motivated the neighbor to do what he did. I thought if anything his beef would have been more with Margene, but from previous episodes I guess they did mention how he had pretty much gone off the deep end. I guess somebody like that would be pretty unpredictable.

As far as loose ends... yea there are some loose ends, I guess it cannot all be wrapped up. I guess the way the family was all back together was a point of joy, but wow... I am just so sad about Bill.

What happened??!! The episode isn't up for download yet, and I'm going crazy! PM me if you don't want to post spoilers on the thread.
