Big group (Dining Plan)

We have done the dining plan many years ago with a party of 6 and now we will be in Disney with a much larger group. 5 kids under 10 and the rest adults. What is your idea on us using the dining plan? Our concerns are reservations, cost, and we believe the dining plan will take out a lot of last minute decisions away. You know how hard it is for a large group to make up their mind. We also are going in March of 2013 so it is a busy time. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

A party that large usually means multiple rooms, which means multiple room reservations. Sometimes the party switches kids between rooms so they'll all fit. Remember that the dining credits are assigned per room reservation and cannot be pooled across separate reservations. If one family puts a kid in another family's room, then that kid's KTTW card will need to travel with the kid in order to pay for his or her meals (and the park ticket will be on it if using a package).
