Well we had our big family vacation for 13 people and everything went without a hitch at GCV and PP.
Got ourselves a 2br, a studio and a regular hotel room at PP (too late to get an extra room at GCV). Most of the staff at GCH/GCV were great! Some were rather on the surly side, not sure why. But most of them were wonderful.
The rooms were also wonderful.
Although we had a couple hiccups:
1. When we arrived at the 2br the room was propped and the room smells badly of fish. I assume the previous owner cooked something and the smell just didn't go away. But it took a couple calls to housekeeping to get someone to deodorize the room.
The smell never really completely went away while we were there but we made the best of it.
2. We opted for the full cleaning each day and at the end of the stay we found that they had charged us for cleaning on the arrival day. Went to GS to get it squared away. Took awhile but they took it off after talking to the florida office. So if you ever opted for full cleaning each day, make sure to check your folio at the end of the stay.
3. We couldn't find a stopper for our bathtub in the studio room.
4. I think they could add more lighting in the studio room as well. Seems like the room is rather dark to me.
Other than that everything was wonderful. Everyone was quite impressed with the hotel/villas and the fact that we could quickly walk back to the room when someone's tired was great.
Especially since we were there during crazy cold/rainy/crummy weather. We stayed in the room a lot. I appreciated GCV even more!
Everybody enjoyed the stay and I just can't wait to go back. But NOT during the holidays...
Oh and I don't know how GCV and PP were able to do it but they put all rooms within really close proximity to each other. At WDW we never expect rooms to be accommodated any closer than "on the same floor". But at GCV and PP we were put almost next to each other. I thought that was amazing.
