...Universal and then got also got hooked on Universal especially staying on-sight for their FOTL? So now you feel like every time you head to Disney, it is also a must to stay at Universal as well?

I've been to Disney 6X...and finally got a chance to do Universal and stay on-sight! I got hooked on Universal...not so much about the rides (though they do have some great rides for young kids) but the FOTL!! It cannot be beat! And I love RPR!

So now...I feel like not only I am going to Orlando for Disney...but it is a MUST to do Universal as well. So now...I have to extend our stay in Orlando so we can do both parks.

How many of you do both parks? How many have not gone to Universal?

We went to Universal on our honeymoon in 96 and it was fun, but just not the same. We are not big ride people so until DS is a bit older, I doubt we will be heading over.

We are planning on trying Sea World on our December trip, but we say that every single time we go and never can leave Disney property!!

Count me in!!!!!

We got hooked early on....we've been 4 times (5 in Nov) and we've done both since our 2nd trip and we got hooked...

I tried planning our 3rd trip without Universal and my DD's wouldn't hear of it!

We love Xmas at IOA with it being transformed into Whoville and the snow and the Grinch's Lair and we missed it very much this past October when we went to WDW/Universal so now we are going Xmas time again this year!

I LOVE FOTL access and can now never go back to offsite! I also love that i can walk to the parks from my resort!

FOTL- Front of the Line. It allows you to get on the rides faster. You must be a resort guest at one of the Universal resorts.

I know what you mean about can never leave the disney property. But this past Easter, we finally tried Universal...then headed to Disney. I figured if we do Disney first...I may not want to go to Universal.

What's funny was that we were only suppose to do Unversal this past Easter for 7 nights...but I said to myself..."Im in Orlando...I can't go home without visiting Mickey!"

This time in June...I said to myself..."Im going to Orlando to see Mickey...I can't go home without doing Universal!"

Now I have to buy two seperate park passes! More money! But who says vacationing in Orlando is cheap! Too much to see...to much to do!!

What is FOTL

Front of the Line access at Universal is great!!! It's for onsite guests only. You head to the "Express Pass" line (like Fastpass) and you go on with the rest of them. It used to be as many times as you want but now they have limited the popular rides to once per hour per (popular) ride so they scan your room key to keep track. Meanwhile, you can go on another ride while waiting that hour!

Wow...I thought I was the only who got hooked on Universal w/ staying on-sight FOTL!! I wish Disney have this FOTL benefits for the resort guest...but it will never happen cause Disney owns too many resort for this FOTL to work. I still love Disney though for their Early Entry and E-nights!! I love them both!!

June 10-13, I will be at RPR Universal and then from June 13-19 I will be at ASSp. I chose ASSp so I can save some money to be able to extend my stay in Orlando.

I agree!

We'll be doing BWV 11/30 - 12/5 then off to HRH Universal from 12/5 - 12/7 (for the second time; tried RPR last year).

Beattyfamily...are you sure?! Wow...when we went to Universal during Easter (busy time but not overly crowded)...we rode one fish two fish back to back, the lady didn't say anything. We rode Cat in the Hat too...back to back and they didn't say anything...
So we actually rode One Fish Two Fish 2x and Cat in the Hat 2x within an hour!! Which is btw...super duper!!

We did this ride every day for 4 days..the same routine pretty much!! We were there for 5 nights.

BTW beattyfamily...I would love to try Universal during the Holiday!! I would love to see WHOVILLE and the Grinch!!

Yes, it's only on the popular rides like Spiderman and the Dr. Doom Fearfall and the rollercoasters...ones that have the longest lines. I'm sure because I remember them scanning my room key on the Fear Fall ride and Spiderman.

oh..ok..thanks for letting me know. i do remember scanning our cards when we did Fish...and the lady said to me..."you just came from Cat in the Hat didn't you?" I just said "yep." and that's it.

May I ask which resorts have you stayed at? Which is your favorite resort out of the three?

I stayed offsite the first time at a Sheraton. It was just ok. Then I discovered onsite!!! HRH had just opened in 2001 so we got a great intro rate of $117. We enjoyed it very much. Cool atmosphere. Then in 2002, RPR had great intro rates so we stayed there at Club level for only $139 (could have had $99 standard). It was beautiful! Very tropical.

Then this year we could have done RPR again for $110 standard or HRH Pool view $129 so we chose HRH.

We liked them both. They have quite a different atmosphere but both nice. We lean toward HRH because of the slide in the pool and I think it's a little bit closer walk to the parks. Other than that, they are both GREAT.

We've never stayed at PBH and really have no desire. I've heard it's amazing but I've also heard it fancy and stuffy and maybe boring to little ones. So maybe in a few year when our DDs are older. It's also the furthest away from the parks.

Thanks beattyfamily. I always like hearing other people experience on the resorts they stayed at. HRH sounds like a kewl resort. Maybe I will try that when we go during the Holiday!!
