I know, another stroller question. But I have been looking and I still cannot be sure what I am needing. I am six foot one. My son is 44 lbs and 41 inches now. He is only three. We are going to Disney in Oct. I am more than likely going to need a stroller to take with us. Does anyone know what stroller would be good for me and him? Hopefully he will slow down gorwing a bit. LOL. He is taller than I was at his age, Scary thought. Any helpful hints would be great. Most stollers I see say up to 45 lbs. Thanks so much!

Try Maclarens. The weight limit on Macs are up to 55 pounds. We have the basic umbrella type called the Volo. You could get one on ebay for around $50. Make sure you buy also the accessory pack which has a canopy (Fla sun) and a rain shield in it. The Macs have a seat that is also a little wider so the bigger kids are more comfy. We love it. I am 5' 9 Hubby 6 ft and we can push it fine. It turns on a dime and is really easy to fold. We got the basic because DD is older han your child you may want the next one up which comes with the canopy etc anyways but offers more comfort. Good luck.

I agree on the Maclaren-we bought the Maclaren Quest for our trip this past December, mainly for my 2 yr old, but my 4 yr old (44" tall and 41lbs) ended up riding in it most of the time. I'm not tall, but I find that the handles are taller than regular strollers-absolutely loved this stroller and wish I'd discovered it long, long ago!!! Have fun!!!!

I too have the Mac Quest (suggested on these boards) and love it. Im 5'10" and my son (almost 3) is a big tall boy (he was 12 lbs 2 oz at birth). I looked at other Macs but went with Quest because the seat reclines to several positions and the sunshade can be positioned so his head is blocked off from the world. He liked these features when he napped in WDW. I liked the stroller because I didnt have to hunch over or kick the wheels when I pushed it (like I did with Chicco Caddy). It is pricey, but we have another one on the way so it will get used. I dont even plan on using the travel system since this does it all almost. It is a bit tricky to fold up if youre new to it and in a hurry (I held up a bus trying to fold it and the driver said just get on and fold it inside).

Wonderful. I will definatley get a Mac then. I had seen posts on them but wasnt sure it would fit us. Thanks so much. I do not mind spending the extra for something that will save my back and his... LOL

:)

A little extra info on my Dd. She is 5 yrs old 50 ish pounds and 47 1/2 inches. The Mac volo easily carries her plus a six pack cooler in the basket plus whatever backpack etc I put on it. Yes sometime I load the backpack too much and it tips when she stands up but that is my problem. With her weight and all the extra weight it has to be much more than the 55 limit and it still pushes like a dream. Could do it one handed. Good luck!

FYI the 2005 volos will come standard with a canopy :)

i have a few maclarens including the volo and love them!

I have a twin Mac for my ds4 and dd almost 3 and i wish i had the gotten it ages ago. I dont think you will be sorry if you get one.

Cool!! This is a great thing!!! Our DD is 3 1/2 is over 40 inches and weighs 39lbs. I am 5 ' 11'... We are headed to "The World" in December and this would be a great thing! :Pinkbounc

We love the Maclaren we have for our 9 year old with Down syndrome. Luckily our insurance paid for it because it is considered a handicapped one and is very pricey. But we love the way it works. Does anyone have any experience with the boards that go behind the stroller for the older sibling to ride on? I saw someone with one at MK. It was called a buggy board but was on a Maclaren stroller. right now we also have a simple Chicco that we like but with 4 kids only the oldest walks ALL the time. My 6 year old still gets tired especially at night. It would be good to give her a way to relax.

I have not used he buggy board but I have checked it out. It seemed to me the reason I did not buy it was that the weight limit was only to 35 pounds. Someone elese may have more info.

I second the Mac Volo! My 45" tall 4½ year old is very comfy in it and my DH (6'4") and I (5'10") both love pushing it. :teeth: It is SO light, like only 7 lbs, so even with a heavy kid in it, it still pushes like a dream. It is about the only stroller I can but DS in and not have his feet hanging off. DH actually fussed at me on our Christmas week trip for not buying 2 of them! I had DS 2 in the Peg Perego Pliko that we already owned. I didn't think we should buy a new stroller for the trip (I use the Volo for our "keep in the car" stroller for the 2 year old so we already owned that). We would race to the stroller parking because both of us wanted to push the Volor b/c it was SO much better steering than the Pliko. We are planning a trip for the end of this year and DH has already told me to include $ in the budget to buy another Volo.

Okay, I found a Mac Quest Stroller for 136.99 on sale free shipping. Is this a good deal for one? I decided after all the feedback that I wanted to get one.

Grab it! You will not be sorry. I just wish I had gotten one when my DD was smaller so I did not go through the 4 strollers I did as she got bigger and her needs changed The Mac would have been perfect all through her baby and toddler years..

You've probably already purchased your maclaren, but I just wanted to say it's a great choice!!

I'm 6 feet tall, DH is 6'2" and our 4 year old son fits in it, no problem. We bought the Volo w/ accessory pack, and think it's the best stroller purchase we've ever made. It's been to Disney World twice already (it'll go again in about 10 days) and it's been fabulous... easy to fold, it can be carried over your shoulder and it weighs next to nothing. We're trying to decide if we should buy a second one for our almost 2 year old.

ANOTHER vote for the Maclaren strollers.

Love, Love, Love mine!

I have a Peg with a big basket and tray for when I hit the mall - but the Mac is GREAT for traveling. Tiny, lightweight, folds easily, drives easy!
I have the Mac Techno XT - the handlebars are adjustable - which is a great feature as well - my husband and I have different settings.
Also, on www.Maclarenstrollers.com the have a mesh basket that you can attach to the handlebars for extra storage for water bottles etc.

Okay. I bought it... itll be the otw soon, thanks everyone. I will give it a test run at the mall for the next few months... LOL.. and practice folding.

I am looking for a Quest also. Where did you find it for that price?
