Word has it that the future of Fastpass will be a park entry allotment. Has anyone else heard this info - that has been shared by cast members in the recent "Keys to the Kingdom" tours?

A few Fastpasses will be distributed to guests upon entering the park - according to CM Mathiew in "The Keys to the Kingdom" tour. Can anyone attest to hearing of this as well?

hmmm, instead of knowing the routine of FP, and when they're gone, they're gone... the Disney ticket counter will hand random picked number... say 5 so you go thru the turnstyle and everyone gets 5 FP??? That way you can use your 5 (randomly picked by ME) FP on BUZZ, or spread them on the eticket rides??

ewww

Is it because some CM's are tired of being yelled at when the FP run out? :confused3 (ie a post from soarin)

Please say it aint so... dear Disney, fair doesnt mean equal!!

I dont like either suggestion for FP, I say it needs to stay the same except maybe give you another FP at the same time for a nearby ride or a similar ride, like those suprise FP I heard about.. Then maybe make the FP window as far as when you can get another FP be a little shorter ::MickeyMo

Any ideas how it would work? Would you be able to get them for just the attractions you wanted? Would they still have a 1 hour return window?

So visitors will randomly be given an amount of Fastpasses they can get? Or am I misreading that? If that's the case, I can't imagine Disney going with the plan.

Are you talking about fastpasses distributed by class of resort?

Time to put on my flameproof suit.......

I like the idea of it given out by class of resort. I think that offsite shouldn't get the FP, values 3, moderates 5 and deluxes/DVCs 7. I think it would add an extra incentive for people wanting to stay at deluxe/DVC.

Just my opinion......

As long as they treat DVC as deluxe, I'd be very happy with that arrangement. ;)

(Seriously, I suspect that they'll continue to treat DVC as deluxe as long as they have DVC to sell.)

I think they are giving fastpasses at the gate to track them to see what rides and what times they are used. I think it's a test to track the way people use them.

I'm not sure what I think, my feeling is leave it alone. We do very well with the system as it is.

Has anyone heard of something called an Executive Pass? This past weekend I was at FIL's B'day party and DH's cousin just returned from their first trip to WDW. They said that the lines and heat were bad and then a lady they met in a park told them about this pass. It is something new that they are trying out. He said he went to guest relations and told them someone in his party could not stand in the heat all day and they got the pass which let them go to the head of the line each time (he claims it wasn't the FP line). I'm not sure if he scammed to get something he shouldn't or if it really is something new, and was wondering if anyone here heard of it. :confused3

The problem with your "opinion" is that it totally shuts out those guest who either cant afford to stay on site or just choose not to (I am in the latter group).
On site guests already receive perks for being onsite...access to the dining plan. extra magic hours, etc.
Everyone (depending on what ticket package you choose of course) is paying pretty much the same thing to enter the park and therefore everyone should have access to fast pass. Now im not opposed to the idea of onsite guests having more fast passes because they have paid more for the priviledge or whatever.
Lets get to the core of your issue...and that is that you have this idea in your head that YOU are paying to stay on site and all of those filthy offsite guests are using YOUR fast pass!
I know im fighting a losing battle here because most of you guys on disboards are onsite guests...but I dont know...this is probably the most selfish, non Disney idea Ive seen on here.

Twigs,
That sounds like the Guest Assistance Pass, or Handicapped Pass, as they used to be called. Used for medical reasons.

I would love to have all the Fast Pass machines in a central location, and the ability to have more than one if the return time is an hour apart or so. Just a thought.

We had a long wait at the will call window once due to a glitch on their part, and they gave us front of the line passes for 4 or 5 rides. We did just walk in front of everybody to the very front of the line. I would feel guilty doing it on every ride though, unless I had a legit. excuse.

I think that's a horrible and errant characterization, and you owe a lot of people a very substantial apology.

No one's personal preference matters -- not even the personal preference of the managers at Disney. What matters is what contributes most to the people who actually own Disney. If it is to their benefit to offer more perqs to on-site guests, then that is what they should do. Otherwise, they shouldn't do that.

I don't think they should mess with the system.

The only change that I think would be beneficial would be to make Fast Pass a Resort Only perk. Many other theme parks charge a premium for similar things such as Fast Pass. I don't think it would be unfair to the offsite guests to allow only onsite guestst to use the Fast Passes.

Another question with this system is what happens when you resort hop. Say you enter a park at 6 pm. Would you be given fast passes then? I think there will be a lot of problems if they change the system around.
