Biff's Enchanted Birthday Trip...Twas' the week before Christmas

Yes I know! Took a long time didn't it? I did one of these a couple of years ago and it was a little tiny print. This time they were decent sized. Much better.

Good luck with the new place. I hope you guys get it. pixiedust:

Loving all those new TOL pics! I'm amazed at that tree...There's some great art in there. :artist:
It was a good size pic.
thank you
thanks. There will be more later.

So, is ITTBAB as bad as everyone says -- meaning the icky bug factor? Will my family freak out with all the bugs in it?
young kids do not seem to like it. I find it to be fun.

Aw, those parrots are so cute! I know a lot of people on here have bird phobias but I LOVE birds! I grew up with a Cockatiel named TeePee and I was the only one he'd let pick him up and play with him. He was my little baby for over 10-years so I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for birds :goodvibes

LOVE the bug-eyed glasses picture! I have the worst bug phobia EVER and was afraid of seeing the show on our first trip, but was very happy to see that it was all cartoons and nothing too bad!
Biff is the main bird phobia person.
it is a fun show.

Now FOTLK was beginning so we went to meet some Christmas characters.

I will just put all the pp pics in with this.

First should have been Chip and Dale but they were just leaving. So we went to
PC186479.jpg

Now as we stood there, Goofy decided to go on a break.
PC186480.jpg

The photopass photographers let some people take pics in the sled. We declined.
PC186481.jpg

Then Goofy came out. I am going to post all the pics with the different borders.

This had the longest line. We chatted with a lady behind us. She was very nice. Big fan of Disney.

Self portrait.
SDC10907.jpg

Biff got a pic taken with him alone

Then the pp took one of both of us.

We had an absolute blast meeting the characters. They were all great and so much fun.

Highly recommend timing this to a showing of FOTLK. After we were done so was the show and the lines grew by double.

Time to stop.
Up next.

A little yak, a lot of yeti

Hey Scott,
Love the photos. Biff looks pretty happy. :) You know, after all the times we've been at AK, I've never seen the greeting trail. And could you please tell me what the FOTLK is.

Cute character pictures! It was neat to see them dressed up in their Christmas outfits.

Wow! Great pics on the safari! Absolutely loved your pictures with the characters!! Don't know which ones I like best! It's really nice that they were in their Christmas outfits!

Did you buy the T-shirt so you wouldn't have to do laundry?:laundy:

Your pictures turned out great. Does this mean you didn't see the lion king? Tell me it isn't so? You took Biff to it last trip right?

i was dying in that long sleeve shirt. it hit 80 drgrees every day we were there.
no we did not but I have seen it before. No. I saw it with the kids last January.

After our wonderful character meet we decided to head over to lunch. On our way we ran into Turk (I believe).

SDC10911.jpg

Have you noticed I changed shirts? I was dying at this point so I bought a shirt. I love the shirt.

We passed this.
SDC10912.jpg

Then we came to our dining choice.
SDC10914.jpg

I check us in and we sit for about 3 minutes.
SDC10917.jpg

Here is our seating ticket. I guess it was 1:08 now.
SDC10924.jpg

So we order. Menu –
Me –
App: Pork Pot Stickers: pan seared or steamed, soy lime dipping sauce
Ent: Crispy Honey Chicken: tempura chicken, broccoli, carrots and honey sauce
Des: Fried Wontons: Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle

Biff –
App: Steamed Mussels: fresh Prince Edward Isle black mussels, white wine, lemon grass and Thai basil broth
Ent: Crispy Mahi Mahi: filet of mahi mahi, Japanese breadcrumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables
Des: Sorbet: Mango, lemon and raspberry

**Reviews**
Me – I loved my meal. The pot stickers were delicious. The crispy honey chicken was so good. I wished there was more. Now the dessert was very good. It was very different and worth it, however, I was really looking forward to the brownie sundae. It has been moved to a sharing dessert. Another table got it and it really was not that big so I was bummed about that but the dessert I got was really good. Now the negative review. :rotf:

Biff –
This restaurant was a disappointment - Server was very good
I felt this restaurant has to decide what they want to be. not Asian enough nor anything else. Mostly middle of the road.

Steamed Mussels - Fresh Prince Edward Isle black mussels, white wine, lemon grass and Thai basil broth - very good.
Crispy Mahi Mahi - filet of mahi mahi, Japanese breadcrumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetable
This should have been called mahi mahi floating in soup (sweet & sour sauce). Fish well cooked, the liquid was too heavy seemed like a cup of soup that the fish was dropped into rice & vegetables good but over powered by the sauce. Best way to order this meal is sauce on the side then would be excellent.
Sorbet - Mango, lemon, raspberry

Negative Nelly strikes again. :rotf: He said he would go back for counter service. I loved it.

My beverage of choice was
SDC10926.jpg

Yak Attack: Mango Daiquiri, Bacardi Light Rum, and Wildberry Flavors

After lunch we walked around.

Then we got to
SDC10938.jpg

Just missed the show.

SDC10939.jpg

SDC10940.jpg

I will stop here.

Up next..

Dinosaurs

Good pictures. There's so much detail in Animal Kingdom. It's great for photography.

I think, if my friend and I actually do get to go in March, we may try the counter service version of Yak & Yeti, just for something different. Jill's not an adventurous eater, and it wouldn't suit Brooklynn's needs, so we haven't tried it yet. I think my friend will be willing to try some more unusual venues in eating, so I'm thinking this would be a good time to try the Yak & Yeti style food without an ADR. I'll have to check and see if they have the Crispy Honey Chicken there.

Scott your pictures have convinced me to take some time and really explore Animal Kingdom. The couple of times I have gone we got there late and the people I was with just wanted to get out of there. It really looks like I have missed a lot of the little things there.

Sorry Nellie didn't enjoy it. What was his favorite restaurant overall?

Yes, I like the shirt.

Shame you missed the nemo show too. We're a show family. We like them better than the rides. My kids all like to dream about which character in a show they will play when they grow up.

You are a far braver person than I when it comes to food! I'm not the very adventurous type! :rotfl2: Glad you enjoyed your Yak & Yeti experience. Oh, I like your new shirt!::yes::

Hey Scott

Love the new shirt! Sorry you missed the Nemo show. We have seen it twice now. Hopefully you'll see it next time. We have not tried Yak & Yeti yet. We usually go to Flame Tree. I love sitting down by the water. It is very peaceful.

I just asked and you will have to wait till final thoughts. :rotfl2: actually he has a 10 question questionaire to fill out about the trip for final thoughts.
thanks. I love that shirt.
I will see it eventually.

You are a far braver person than I when it comes to food! I'm not the very adventurous type! :rotfl2: Glad you enjoyed your Yak & Yeti experience. Oh, I like your new shirt!::yes::
nothing adventurous, it is basically like Chinese food. I love japanese.

thank you.
I plan on seeing it next time. hopefully.
they have tables upstairs next to the windows and you can people watch as they go by. we sat next to those and we could see.

Love the new shirt :thumbsup2
thank you

Now we are in Dinoland. I ask if he would like to go on
SDC10943.jpg

He looked and he said. “Yes”. Then we got closer and he said no thank you. :rotf: He saw the spinning part. He said he could not handle that.

Next was
SDC10944.jpg

Again, a no. It spun.

Then we started to walk towards a ride I knew he would do.

So we get to the loading area and we are the first 2 people on the next vehicle. No one is behind us so I then noticed that they just let the next batch of people in. I was hoping we would have the car to ourselves. Here is the redneck photo. I kept saying "come on lets go".

They let us have the car to ourselves. I yelled out “Thank you” to the guy working it. I love this ride but my goodness it is bumpy.

I did not buy the pic and I should have.

Then we left Dino area.

Time to stop.

Up next..

A meeting with Pooh and the best interaction with characters I have ever had.

How cool that you got your own car! That must have been such a fun experience!

VERY cool that you got the dino car to yourself. i can't believe biff will ride this and not some of the other stuff. i think this ride has WAY more dips in it than everest! i think it's just that you SEE the drop in everest and this ride is inside and so dark that you can't see how far down you're falling.

scottny....I am all caught up on reading your reports and have to say I love your pictures they are almost the same ones we took but yours are 100x better.
I love your new shirt.
The drink you had at Yak's looks yummy.
I can't imagine having the whole Dinosaur ride to yourselves I loved the ride so did my Dh but he said it was rough on his back(he has had major surgery on it)
He wouldn't ride primewhirl either.I 'm just happy he decided to ride something other than It's a Small World.

Looking forward to reading MORE keep it coming.
