I get frustrated at buffets because my plate gets full half way through the food line and then I see more delicious foods ahead of me that I would have liked to try but now have no room for on my plate.

Please save me from myself and suggest your super favorites at Biergarten so I'll know which foods to leave room for on my plate!

Beer cheese soup and pretzel bread
Schnitzel with the applesauce
Brats
Spatzle
Carved ham
Apple strudel

These FOR SURE are my absolute favorites:lovestruc

Pork schnitzel, sauerbraten and beef roulades.

Whatever you do, though, save room for dessert. Apple strudel with vanilla sauce and Black Forest cake! :cloud9:

We first ate at Biergarten last Dec. - not sure why we waited so long, but loved it so it'll be added to our restaurant rotation.
What you need is a new approach to buffets. The tendency is to serve yourself normal size portions in the beginning and rapidly run out of plate room don't instead make that first visit the 'sampler' plate - just grab a small portion, no matter how tempting those first few offerings are, resist and just do a small sample of everything. Try them all then return w/ your second plate for your 'entree' larger portions of your favorites.
Or, if your hands are big enough, use my son's method and fill 2 plates the first time through :)

Biergarten has easily become our favorite lunch at EPCOT. We don't usually like buffets because we feel rushed, but it's never like that at Biergarten. LOVE the communal tables and the festivities from the band.

Pretzel rolls and beer cheese soup are A MUST. Also, the thin, fried pork cutlets are amazing. I also love all the salads and meats. And desserts. All of it!

And the beer ... oh, man ... the beer.

1) I never fill my plate at buffets.
2) I simply take small (or tiny) portions of an item, then go back later if I want more.

NOTE:
. . . Lots of folks take more than they can eat.
. . . Several buffets at WDW throw away as much as eight-nine 50-gallon trash cans of food each day.
. . . This is not left-overs form the serving line, but food from the dirty plates
.

I'm a dissenter here, but my entire family hated the desserts at Biergarten, and we normally love black forest cake and apple strudel. But the ones we had were bad. If my DH leaves dessert on a plate, there's a problem, LOL!! We may have just had a bad night, though!

I liked a lot of the other things mentioned, the potato dumplings in particular! I also enjoyed a lot of the cold salad options...I'd have to look back at my TR and see the particulars though.

The one thing I would like to rave about the most there was our server - she was amazing! It was her first night on her own without her trainer, but you'd have never known. She was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere, so she was either naturally talented with the art of conversation and timing, or she had a great trainer.

Also, the beer flight here was really good!

Even though this place is heavy on the meats, my favorite things on the buffet are the tomato basil salad and the cucumber dill salad. I fill a plate with those and a piece of pretzel bread, and I'm in heaven. I found the recipes online and make them all summer long when produce tastes great.

Yep, there's no way around it at Biergarten. There is so much good food there that you're gonna have to go back. Try taking smaller bits of stuff at first, then get it again on subsequent trips. I can't remember a particular favorite, since it's all good. I am big on Spaetzel though so I hit that pretty hard.
