Anyone went to Biergarten?
This Sept. is our first trip without the kids in 18 years DS (18) and DD (16).
We got the free dinning again, we upgrated it to Table Service we have ADR for Biergarten but DH vis a little bit worried,1st we have to sit with other people (DH does'nt speak english, 2nd do they just invite you to participate in the show or they insist???
Any tip on where to be seated?

I'd like to know about this as well. We have dinner booked here in Aug.

Last year we ate at Teppan Edo and were sat with another family at our table. Turned out we had a great time and got along very well. A few days later we ran into them at HS and it was like running into old friends.

We went for lunch a couple of years ago and were not overly impressed. Perhaps it's because we're from Kitchener-Waterloo--heavily German area. There's better German food around home, for us. And yes, you do sit with strangers, which is, or can be, fantastically awkward.
We also didn't get a choice of where to sit.

I really enjoyed Biergarten. The food was typical buffet food, but I enjoyed it as did my boyfriend at the time. You're seated at tables of 8, and so if your party is smaller than that you will be joined up with other people. There was a group of 4 at our table that kept to themselves, myself and the guy I was with, and another couple. The other couple didn't speak a word of English or any of the other languages I speak but they didn't seem to be having an awful time because of it. There is live music and you are allowed to go up and dance to it, but in no way are you pressured to do so.

It's a place I'd go to again for sure, is it the best German food in the world? No, but lets be honest, nothing in World Showcase is the best food from whatever nationality it's representing.

We've eaten at Biergarten a couple of times and enjoyed both the meal and the experience. It is just the 2 of us, so have been seated at tables with total strangers, but on neither occasion was it strained or uncomfortable. On one occasion it was a group of 4, a couple, and ourselves. Everyone chatted with the persons closest to them and it was fine. The next time we were seated with all couples. Other than politely saying hello, each couple pretty much kept to themselves conversation-wise. But it was not uncomfortable at all. Keep in mind that Biergarten is quite large and can be quite noisy- especially when the band is playing, so conversation is really not that easy anyway.

You are not required to participate in the show, although you can if you want to. Usually it's mostly the kids that are dancing. Most of the adults join in the drinking song, but you don't have to if you don't want to.


As far as the food goes: we like it. It's a buffet with quite a decent assortment to choose from. We lived in the Bavaria region of Germany for three years and found the food comparable to quite a few of our local restaurants there.

I hope I'm guessing right that you speak French...

J'ai mangé là en 2009. Comme les autres ont dit, les tables sont pour 8, donc vous serrez assis avec d'autres groupes/familles. J'étais avec une amie, et il y avais trois autres groupes de deux. A notre table, seulement une couple au bout du table n'étais pas intéressé a jaser avec nous, ils ont parlé entre eux mêmes. Mon avis - si vous pense que vous allez etre un peu géné, demande d'être assis au bout d'une table. Comme ca, vous pouvrez garder votre conversation entre vous mêmes!

J'ai beaucoup aimer l'atmosphère. Le resto est un peu comme une "mini-théatre". C'étais plutot des enfants qui dansaient, et la participation n'est pas "forcé" au style de 50s Prime Time. Comme les autres ont dit, la boeuf était "OK". Pas superbe, mais pas pire. Je n'hésiterai pas d'y aller encore!

Well the seating is a fact. Especially if you're oly two, you will be seated with other people.

As for the show, there is ZERO obligation to do anything. We're mostly a shy family and only a couple of us go onto the dance floor, we mostly stay at our seats.
