We have a lunch opening the last day we are Disney during our upcoming trip. I should say we are not on DDP and we have AP's so going to a park just for a meal is not an issue.

We were going to do Brown Derby just because I love it:rotfl: We had a great meal there in June and I was thinking of trying lunch. but then the bug to try something new has bitten me. there are very few restaurants in Disney we haven't tried Biergarten and Akerkush (is this the spelling?? Sorry) being 2 of them. This trip we have LeCellier, Chefs De France, and kona cafe ADR's(it is a short trip) Other wise aside from the Dolphin Swan places we have tried most of it. Any suggestions or comments as to why i should or shouldn't go to Biergarten over Brown Derby???TIA!!

I love Biergarten. Have a reservation there for Sept. 1 actually.

Don't know what you're into but if you don't like having strangers sit at your table, don't go. They have tables for 8 and they're shared between parties. Some are unaware of this and then when they seat them at your table, they look at you with the "Charles Manson look" (as if they're being seated with Charles Manson rather than just some other Epcot guests). If you want a nice elegant "quiet" (for Disney World) experience stick with the Brown Derby.

I think the food is pretty good and there are schooners of beer!

haha thanks for the tip!

We like try alot of different things so i am open to the table thing! The beer sounds great!

We had a 7pm ADR in May at a slow time of year, so we didn't have strangers sitting with us. In fact, we were literally the only people in that particular section of the restaurant.

We haven't been to the Brown Derby, so I can't compare, but we did have a nice meal at Biergarten. We probably won't go back anytime soon because, like you, there are other new restaurants for us to try.

We loved Biergarten last year. So much so that we made an ADR for our trip this year too. We love the atmosphere and the food was great. Of course we love that kind of food to begin with. I would recommend you try it. Since you go often you can try it and if you don't like it you don't have to go back, but atleast you would know for future trips. I'm sure since you have APs that this won't be your last trip. Take the plunge and try it out. It may surprise you.

I'm trying it in Feb for the first time and I'm solo ,so I like theidea of sitting with others Will be a change for me. I too love German food and want to try some differnt things I haven't eaten before. Does anyone know how often The Band plays. My ressies are for 6:30 p.m.??

We love the Biergarten, but we also spent 6 1/2 years in Germany, so that may color our view somewhat! We got used to shared tables (Ist das Platz frei?) and it can be fun sharing experiences with other Disneyphiles.
A plus for the AP holder is the 10% discount on lunch at the Biergarten Monday through Friday.
So raise your stein high and join in the antics.:woohoo:
