Has anyone eaten at the Biergarten? How's the food and the atmosphere? Is it worth going to? I try to eat at a different country every Disney trip. So far I have eaten in England, Canada, Mexico, and Morocco. So I'm thinking either Germany, or perhaps France. I'm going with sister, 11 yr. old niece, and mother. My sister and niece aren't very picky, but my mom is. She hates anything spicey, the blander the better to her. So would Germany be okay, or is there some place else I'm not thinkning of in the WS that would be better?

We had dinner at Biergarten last year and had a fun time. They have a Polka band and people dance on the dance floor. It is a real hoot. The food is mainly German of course, but you should be able to find something not spicy. She could also eat food off the kids part of the buffet like mac & cheese ,etc.

Food was good; I'm not crazy about the sausages.. but there was plenty of other items. Tasty desserts. My 8 year, who is normally not picky, said it was her least favorite Food of our week (Dining Plan). Entertainment was good; we were there for an early dinner so no one was participating and dancing, but I'm sure would be a lot of fun with a livelier crowd. They set you family style with another family.. which was kind of neat to visit and meet another family.

The Biergarten is fabulous! It is a must for us every time we go to Epcot. The food was great, the band was great, the setting was great, and our waitress was nice, too! We went for lunch last time, and there were lots of kids dancing with the band. It was really cute. The only thing I don't really like is that you sit at a table with people you don't know if you have less than 8 people in your party. But even so, the good outweighs the slight bad, so I highly recommend it!

We LOVE Biergarten. The food has definately improved over the years. The past few meals I have had have been the best!

The Biergarten is my picky 15 yo dd's favorite restaurant at Epcot. I'm not sure why but since I love it, too, I don't question it! The food is great, the beer is wonderful, and we've had really great servers there. I used to live in Germany and the atmosphere is like the local fests we used to go to.

You do share a table with other diners which can be a lot of fun or plain uncomfortable depending on your table mates. Two years ago, we were already seated when this family joined us. The entire family was rude and annoyed at having to share our table. After the seating was explained, the mother gave a huge sigh, turned to her husband and said very snottily, "Well, meet your dining companions for the evening, honey." They proceeded to ignore us for the entire meal except when I asked the little girl sitting next to me if she liked the music and her mother told her, "You are NOT supposed to speak to strangers." Well, okeydokey, then. Our waitress apologized to me on our way out because the other family was just downright rude not just to us but to her as well.

Our last trip was a blast, though. We were seated with two younger guys who were very nice but also with this wonderful older couple who had a great time chatting with my dd and her friend. They were a hoot and I think it was our most enjoyable visit yet.

Give it a try!

I have visited Biergarten once and really enjoyed it. The food is pretty heavy, though, so if you are looking to eat there, it might be best for dinner. I ate there for lunch during the summer a couple of years ago and was dragging the rest of the day  The entertainment is great, we had a good time.

The couple that sat with us were very nice and we chatted off and on - I am pretty shy and wasnt sure I would like sharing a table with strangers, but it was a good experience.

It is definitely worth a visit and I hope to make it there on my next trip :thumbsup2

I just don't understand why some folks are like that. Sucks to be them.

Another :thumbsup2 for the Biergarten!! We have eaten there every trip and are planning on doing so in a couple of weeks. My dd and ds love it there. We usually dine around 5-6 pm and have always had a table to ourselves but we don't really mind the idea of sharing a table. The food is good and from what I remember fairly mild. I would highly recommend it!!

We found it mediocre--not terrible but not worth returning. That said, we were there early in the evening so it wasn't full, but I was very annoyed that even though the place was only about 1/3 full, the food trays were often empty. The band was decent, but that's about it. The best part was we sat next to a CM who'd worked at MK as a welder (I think) since it opened. Talking to him and his wife was pretty interesting. But we won't return.

As my lovely DW Tazicket has already said, we love the Biergarten. The chicken schnitzel is amazing.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Two thumbs up.

Lots of fun, beautiful setting, and great food.

People often think that German food = only sausages, which just isn't true. You'll find a lot of German foods that remind you of typical English/American/Southern cuisine. (Did I just put English food and cuisine in the same sentence? :sad2: )

Dinner just plain doesn't get much better than a plate full of Schnitzel, Spaetzel, and German potato salad. Mmmm, mmmm, good!

Hearty food from hearty people. pirate: (My ancestors are German. :) )

It wasn't terrible, but it was just okay. The family seated with ours didn't interact or even make eye contact with us. I think who you're seated with could really make or break the whole experience. Coming from a German background, I just didn't find the food as flavorful as I thought it would be...the spelt salad was a nice, authentic touch, but the spaetzle was way over-cooked and watery. The desserts were very good, however. All in all, we felt there are too many other really good restaurants that we'd rather go to.

WE HAVE EATEN AT THE BIERGARTEN 5 TIMES!!
Yes, we love it...
The buffet has
Bratwurst
Franks
Breaded Boneless Chicken Breast
Beef Stew
Baked Chicken
Spaetzle {noodles}
Salad Bar (coleslaw,beets,potato salad)
Mashed Potatoes
and amazing Hot Apple Strudel
Lots more, but this was mostly the UN-spicey stuff :bitelip:

Funny story,,,,,,, :rotfl2:
The last time we were there,,,,a few guys seated at our table ordered the
really tall schooners of beer..When they
finished them, they stuck them in their back-
packs , paid their bill and left!!!!!!! :sad2:
I was in SHOCK!!! They didn't speak English
So I thought saying something would be
a waste of time......Geez ,some people!
:drinking1 :drinking1

Still one of our favorite places! ;)

Dh and family are German so whenever we meet them at WDW we always eat there. Love the music and dancing. The food never disappoints. The apple strudel is TDF...to die for!

The large beer is a must, my GF drank 3 of them at 10 bucks a pop.....

We are thinking about eating there in December. Just wondering, are the tables round or what? I think it would be a less uncomfortable situation if your tablemates were rude if they were rectangle tables or something (you know your family at one end and them at the other). Thanks!

They're rectangular. I'm really shy around new people, so I didn't really talk to our tablemates much, but we weren't snotty to them or anything. DH and I were sitting on the end across from each other, so that was ok. :)

On our last Disney trip, we wandered into Biergarten in the middle of the day for lunch. No ADR's (or PS's at that time ) but were seated w/in 5 min, with PERFECT seats. Let me tell you, we all loved it! The food was great, our server was awesome, and the entertainment was really fun! We would definatley go back!

Love the idea of the large tables, like being at Octoberfest, row after row of tables. The show is also great, service wonderful. Thats where it stops for my family, we did not care for the food. Maybe were too adventurous and tried the wrong foods, there are a lot to choose from.

By the time I had tried a plate of the salad, and a plate of the German specialties I had lost my appetite. Did not care for the salads or sauages. Don't think our family will be returning any time soon.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the show and the food. My DH and DD are very picky eaters and they really liked the buffet. They each found some things that they really liked. Our table mates were duds--they ate quickly and left. Oh well...we plan on going back on our next trip.

I did not enjoy Biergarten at all, but my husband, who was born and raised in Germany, really enjoyed it. The food is VERY heavy - too heavy for lunch.
