I am thinking of making an ADR for Biergarten and I am wondering about the selection for kids. We have 5 kids in our group (7,4,4,3,3) and they are quite picky. I thought the entertainment would be fun for them but not sure about the food. I looked at the menu and saw that they have mac n cheese and mini frankfuter sausages(are these regular mini hot dogs?). What do you think?

Well, I think I have you beat in the picky kids dept. We were there last Thursday and the kiddos (ages 4 and 9) just stuck to the mac and cheese. Those mini dogs look and taste nothing like hot dogs. There was no fooling my kiddos.

But the entertainment was fun. My 4 year-old was so focused on dancing that she didn't complain about food.

Have a great time!

Remember that kids are not limited to what is listed on the "kids menu". They can eat from anywhere on the buffet. I don't know how picky your kids are but mine could always find something to eat.

I always suggest that a parent never tell the child that they might not like the food. Just let them have whatever they want. You could very well be surprised. Sometimes it's just the names of things that turn kids off.

My two children are not particularly picky eaters, DS will eat most things, DD isn't so good more of a meat and two veg kind of girl. Although we thought the meal was excellent at Biergarten for the two adults I think this was probably the only place in our three week trip where both children left hungry. They enjoyed the rotisserie type of chicken but expected the sausages to taste like sausage not frankfurters etc.

I would go again but not for a few years until they manage to eat more salad etc.

there is a good selection of items - the mac and cheese, several items on the salad bar (even sliced american cheese :) along with a good chicken soup plus pretty plain chicken, etc...
the atmosphere is fun for kids - loud enough and music so there is "entertainment" for them
my vote is YES!

:thumbsup2

It really is a great place for kids. It's loud and fun. I was a little weirded out by sitting with strangers, at first, but it turned out to be fine.

Quick shout out to Cathy from Boston! :thumbsup2

Biergarten is great entertainment for the kids but for food my son had an apple. We ended up getting him McD's after wards. My daughter didnt like much either they were 6 and 8. I would do it again though it was worth it for my DHandI and the entertainment .
