Biergarten? What did you think?

I'm considering an ADR for this restaurant. I'm half German and since I don't know if I'll ever make it to Germany I thought this might be fun. :) I'm a vegetarian, but I looked over the menu and still saw plenty I could eat. I was thinking of doing lunch since it would be less expensive. Is it fun for the kids/entertaining? Mine will be almost 5, almost 3, and 18 months at the time of our trip.

My whole family loved Biergarten! The atmosphere is fantastic, food is great, and entertainment is fun!!! My DD7 and I have been dreaming about a hypothetical mother/daughter trip and that's where she wants to eat in Epcot!! Now if only we can win the lottery and make it a reality!:goodvibes

This is our favorite dinner buffet and top 3 Epcot restaurants! DH is 100% German and just loves the food here, me too but I am Italian ha ha. Never had a bad meal, love the music and the dancing..the kids always get up and go on the dance floor, they are just adorable

Hello fellow WNY'er!!!

What kind of entertainment?

We love Beirgarten. We went last Nov with our then 4 and 2 year old and they loved it. The food is great and the entertainment was fun!

We love it here as well. Never been for lunch but I think the food is pretty much the same. They have a German type band and some men that play these super long horns. They bring the kids up to chicken dance. It's really a fun meal.

I really enjoy the food here. It is the only buffet I will eat at in Disney.

I was in Munich over the summer and the food if on par with the touristy restaurants in Munich. It’s not perfect, but it is good.

The one thing that is not for everyone is that you do sit at a table with others.

We love Biergarten! It is the only lunch/dinner buffet we will eat (we do breakfasts elsewhere, but not lunches/dinners). We have never had a bad meal, have enjoyed meeting other people at our table and love the entertainment.

I liked the buffet but I didnt love it. It was one of those restaurants that I tried and I dont know if I will go back. The food wasnt bad it just wasnt my cup of tea.

We have always had a good time at the Biergarten, the atmosphere is lots of fun. The food is OK, I've always been able to find something I enjoyed. We go there for the atmosphere, not necessarily the food, the food isn't bad it just not awesome. I would give it a try!

When I was in hs/college I worked at an authentic German restaurant (owner was from Germany and I had to wear a dirndle (sp?) and everything) and on the weekends he always had a "salad bar" spread that sounds just like the salads listed on the Biergarten buffet. Even though I'm a vegetarian, I could make a meal of just those alone. YUM! So I'm not worried about liking the food, but I do know that it's not everyone's favorite. I guess I was just wondering more about the whole atmosphere/entertainment for the kids. From what I'm reading it sounds like a fun time and like something that will keep them interested while we eat.

We ate at Biergarten for the first time on Sept 28....and the whole family can't stop talking about it! In fact, I think that meal single-handedly guaranteed a return trip next year...if not sooner. The kids loved the entertainment. Much better than character dining, in their opinions. Everyone loved the food, including DD who can be quite picky. She found plenty to eat and even tried new things. She loved the pretzel rolls, discovered that salmon is yummy, and ate loads of pasta salad. Both kids had a great time dancing with the band...they're still doing the chicken dance. We even lucked into one of the small 4 seat tables...not that we would have minded sharing...but the single was a nice surprise and off to the side out of the noise.

The entertainment is great! Many kids usually end up on the dance floor- and that alone is really entertaining (especially the lil ones that like to make up their own dance moves, lol). We also love the atmosphere; you feel like you're in the middle of an old German village. One of the only ways that I can get DH to go to Epcot is if I promise him that we're going to Biergarten.

We had a blast there! The food and entertainment was great. We've gone twice, both times for lunch to save a little money.

I just got back, and ate there.
I will have to say, it was the worest food I have ever had. I am 1/2 german and was very unhappy with the food.
Who has ever had a card board chicken sinsel (misspelled) I want veal and they did not have it.
I will never eat there again

We really enjoyed Biergarten :thumbsup2

My family of four was lucky enough to sit at what may be their only table for 4 :goodvibes (This table was located far stage right.) We saw the show just fine from there.

I am *hoping* we'll do Biergarten on our first night, so this thread is really making me excited! Can't wait!
