Biergarten seating

Is Biergarten back to mandatory group seating or are there still some smaller tables available? I know a small group could get their own table during the COVID restrictions.

We ate there last month and every party was getting their own table. Granted we ate in the middle of the day at an off time, so it wasn't super crowded, but the hostess made a point of mentioning we would have the table to ourselves. We were a party of 5, so not super surprising, but smaller groups were all getting their own as well. I wonder if things might be different at prime dinner time.

Granted this may have changed because we were there last November, but they had totally reworked how the tables were set up. Before it was long 8 person tables on the stage side of the level and then a walkway at the buffet side of the level for movement. Last year, they had taken those 8 person tables and pulled most of them apart into 2-4person tables on either side of the level with the walkway down the middle. DH and I were just a party of 2, but we were sat at one of the 4 person tables with no one else.

Was there at beginning of August, solo dinner got a 4 top by the buffet. I think age of communal dining is over.

Are you saying that the solo diner was sitting alone rather than at a 4 top with others? It may sound strange, but I'd much rather sit alone. I had a very bad experience with communal dining once (a person who was rude), and since then my philosophy when dining is "I'd rather be alone than wish I was!" so I'd rather sit and read my Kindle app. I like German food, but not with communal dining.

I was at a table that would seat 4 people by myself. No one else was seated with me.
