We ate at Biergarten during our December trip. My mistake, but the child's portion of the buffet had nothing our DS (age 5) would eat. He doesn't eat mac-n-cheese or hot dogs. So while he was downing another pretzel bread I got up and asked our server if the kitchen could possibly make a grilled cheese or something. A short time later the chef caught up with me on my way to the buffet. He explained that they didn't really have any bread onsite there at BG to make a grilled cheese. He asked what DS liked. I said waffles, chicken tenders, pizza, pb & j and a couple other things. He shook his head after each food item I said. I then said that's okay it was my fault for not checking the child buffet menu out better and that we'd get him some nuggets and fries down at AA after we were done. He said "Sir, you will not. You are paying for his meal here we will go get him some nuggets and fries." He then asked to give him some time, feed DS some pretzel bread and the show would be coming again soon to keep him occupied. It took a little bit but the chef came out with a huge plate with 4 large tenders and about 6-7 regular nuggets around the outside of a large bowl in the center filled with fries covering one of those glowing cubes. Awesome! The chef then told my wife and I do not be afraid to eat at any Disney restaurant because a child might not like anything there. He said call them ahead and they can make arrangements without any problems.
Now for my question. DS has begged and begged to go back there. Not sure if he even remembers the ordeal with his food but sure does remember the show. So we went ahead and made ADR's for our first full day at WDW coming up April 30. Do I call WDW-DINE to relay the information to Biergarten about a sustitute meal for DS or is there a number to call BG directly? And can I trust WDW-DINE to relay the message? Or should I just try to stop at BG in person the evening of April 29 after we check-in. (We have AP, so admission isn't a problem). Thanks in advance.
