Biergarten or LeCellier?

We went into our one and only Le Cellier meal with very high expectations due to what I read here, and it didn't live up to them.

We go to the Biergarten at least once every trip. Although I'd be lying if I said it was the absolute BEST food ever, the fact that I can pick and choose what I want (there are enough things that I love) makes it edge out Le Cellier. I like the casual atmosphere and the entertainment, too. Throw in a big beer, and I am in heaven.

You can get a good steak a lot of places. There's only one to get good authentic German food. I'd choose, and always do, Biergarten.

Keep in mind that I think LeCellier for dinner is now two table service credits.
The OP already stated that they have a ressie for lunch.

IMO Biergarten isn't worth it. The food is extremely heavy and doesn't compare to anything I've had in Austria. Although I guess if your party is full of picky eaters, this place will work, as most of the food is stuff that Americans won't find too strange.

But my experience with Le Cellier lunch has been rather disappointing. I like the signature dinner there very much, but lunch can be hit or miss depending on what you order (basically, I would suggest ordering the filet but not much else).

Neither is terrible, but neither are at the top of my list. I think you should choose whichever menu appeals more to you.

Just about through making my lunch/dinner reservations. However on my epcot day I can't decide whether to eat at LeCellier or Biergarten for lunch. I already have a LeCellier ressie but wonder if I should change it for Biergarten. Help me decide. Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Okay...I'll admit up front that I've never been to Le Cellier and am dying to. But, with that said, it's a steakhouse and steakhouses can be found all over the United States. Authentic German food, however, is much more difficult to find; and the "experience" of Biergarten would be even more difficult.

I really think Biergarten was my favorite restaurant at Disney last time we were there...and it was the one restaurant that I was dreading the most.

If you're looking at dinner, I would say Biergarten only because it's one TS credit instead of 2. For lunch, I think it's a toss-up. Steak or authentic German food. Dine with your group or have the hofbrau experience and sit with strangers. (We've never had an issue with this and have enjoyed our visits.)

I'd say flip a coin or go with your heart...or your stomach. :)

Biergarten all the way. Like some others posters have said....steakhouses are all over, finding delicious german food however is much more difficult. Biergarten has this bavarian cheesecke that was the single most delicious thing i had during our last visit in 2009. I have been dreaming of it ever since. 10 days away form tasting it again.

I have eaten at both places..... I would say Le Cellier for sure. My family loved it! We didn't feel the same about the the Biergarten food. The show was cute. They will sit you with other parties if your group is small. Fun for little ones. If you want good food, go with Le Cellier. :)

Le Cellier is good, however you can get a good steak in almost any town in America. Finding a place that serves German fare is another story. Plus we like the show at Biergarten. In truth I thought Le Cellier was overpriced, but that's about perspective I guess.

VERY excellent point!!!! :thumbsup2

I like both places, but personally would choose LeCellier over Biergarten.

To be fair, you would agree with any point where someone is saying no to Le Cellier.

It's not like Biergarten is a gourmet or unusual meal. It's just as safe to the American palate as Le Cellier, if not safer because most Americans are probably unfamiliar with truffle (which is part of the dish that most people order there).

Hands down, Le Cellier!

We ate at Biergarten for the first time a few months ago and while I enjoyed the festive atmosphere, the food was pretty just OK for us. And I was really disappointed in the kid choices. There were hardly any for my DD8 to choose from. The desserts were delicious, though. So it ended on a high note.

There are good choices on the Le Cellier children's menu and for us the food was amazing! We ate there right before it switched to Signature dining.
