Biergarten! I just feel that the atmosphere at Biergarten is more suited towards my kids. I'm not sure if they'll like the food, but at least they'll have fun!:cool1:
I don't have a reply for you since I have never been to either. But we have a ressie on Dec 5 at 7:05 so if you do change your current ressie hope to see you there.

I voted for Coral Reef. I've eaten at both and understand the other posters' reasons for suggesting Biergarten, but it really depends on the kids. If they're likely to be opposed to trying more unfamiliar foods or you want to reduce the potential that they'll see drunk people (like others have said, you'll be seated with other guests, so there's a good possibility of this), I'd say choose Coral Reef over Biergarten. However, if you think they'd prefer to be able to get up and dance rather than watch fish, or if they like German food or are at least willing to try it, go with Biergarten.
Here's one small thing to consider that hasn't been mentioned yet: at Coral Reef, there are places to sit down while you wait to be seated at your table, but in my experience, at Biergarten you're standing until you get seated. This is a small enough detail that it probably won't be the deciding factor, but it's something to keep in mind.

*edit* Never mind, I wrote this reply before I saw that you'd made a decision. Hope you enjoy Biergarten; my sister and I loved it when we went in March!

I voted for Biergarten. We took our 13 month old there on our trip in May and it was the ONLY dinner that she sat still at. We sat her at the end of the table that was closest to the stage and she just sat there mesmerized with the band. And she ate everything we put in front of her. Our 7 year old loves it so much, too. It is one of the only restaurants that we must eat at every trip.

Side note: The second show we saw this time at Biergarten had the one guy playing "Edelweiss" on the saw and our little one loved it! We ate there on our 3rd night and after that, anytime she would get cranky, we'd pick her up and sing "Edelweiss" to her and she would immediately turn her mood around. Wonderful!
