So I thought my ADRs were all set and then a 7:50 R & C popped up! Would love to watch Illuminations from the patio, but I know there is no guarantee to have an outside table. Plus we are traveling as a large group of 7 or 8. (ADR is for 8).

Is it possible a party that large would get sat outside?
And is it still blazing hot on the patio at night the end of August?
And if we don't get sat outside is the viewing area we can go to watch at R& C good?

What would you do? Menus are equal for us. The question is more the entertainment value for the kids (illuminations and being outside vs. the band at Biergarten). We have 4 kids with us - ages 2 - 10.

Thanks for your advice.

Nothing says good times like polka music, leather shorts and a hot bratwurst. :lmao:

Is it blazing hot at the end of Aug???......YES YES YES. :cool2:

No way would I want to sit outside to eat. Especially after a day of touring the park(s). No No No....by that time I would be done with the heat, don't care about fireworks. Just get me some airconditioning! LOL

But to each his own.

Enjoy your trip!!

Hi, I used to work at the R&C. I would say there is a higher chance of a large party being sat outside on the upper patio. There are just more tables there that can be made into tables of 8 or more. There are only a couple inside that can hold that many.

The weather in the evening in August wont be blazing hot, but it will be sticky, and very humid, maybe not so much during Illuminations time when it's dark. I've sat outside at the R&C from 7/8pm onwards in August and it's been fine.

If you get sat inside, then you will be escorted by your server to the outdoor viewing area which is reserved just for R&C guests. It's a great view from there too.

I would definitely choose R&C but maybe I'm a little biased . I tried Biergarten and I didn't enjoy much of the food.

I've not been to WDW in August, but I have been there in September and I remember thinking that I could not find air conditioning fast enough! I'm not used to the humidity, so it was pretty tough to want to sit outside for an entire meal.

With regards to the viewing area, it has a great view of Illuminations. We were seated inside last December and went outside to watch the show. Below are a couple of pictures I took.
