Planning on having lunch at Biergarten - never been there before and curious of anyone's experience.

Thanks in advance!

Melissa

I've been to Biergarden many times and always enjoyed it. The food is a buffet and one of my favorite at WDW. The theming and entertainment is also great. One workd of warning if this bothers you- all the tables are in rows so you may be sitting with multiple familes.

I think it's your better then average buffet. DW says the rotisserie chicken is the best. The brats and weiners are very good. It's a place we go almost every trip.

I do miss the days of the sitdown menu but it's still a great place.

We tried the biergarten for the first time on our last trip, and we enjoyed it very much. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Go ahead, give it a try.

If you are a picky eater (lik me) or have picky eaters in your family, I would not recommend it. (I am a plain person, I like my food with no weird sauces, and no odd tastes! Give me plain chicken and rice and I am fine!) I didnt find much that I liked. But if your not picky eater then go for it! Our service was woderful, the entertainment was great and everyone else in my party (not picky eaters) loved it.

Biergarten was probably our least favorite of all the restaurants we've eaten at- however, if you like german food, oyu may just love it there. The atmosphere is fun, but not worth the price you pay if you're not fond of that type of food.

We have ate there two years in a row. one for lunch, one for dinner. I am a pretty plain eater and liked most of the food. The shows are fantastic also, making the whole experience well worth it.

Biergarten definitely has outstanding themeing and entertainment, but don't expect too much from the food. Epcot has some truly excellent restaurants, however, the Biergarten is not one of them. It is our least favorite Epcot restaurant.:D

Hate to disagree but Berigarten is the best restaurant in Epcot in my families opinion. here is the menu link Biergarten Menu

Usually eat lunch there but this time went to dinner after the Candlelight processional.Enjoyed it even more with the entertainment.Asked for a beer and she brought this out:

Have been there twice in the last two years and my entire family enjoys it very much. It was somewhat a surprise that we did because it seems we have been avoiding Biergarten for years. Now that we have gone there, it has quickly risen to one of my three favorites at EPCOT. Both the food and entertainment are very good. By the way, the roast pork is scrumptious.....for me, it makes it worth the visit.

I also have to chime in, I love the Biergarten. We made our PS for 3:45 (dinner prices started at 4) and were able to enjoy items from both meals. My kids loved the music and dancing.

It's my dad'd favorite WDW restaurant.

Have never eaten here, but made PS's for our up-coming trip. From what I've read over the years it seems to get good reviews.

I'm not too worried about sitting next to people we don't know - we'll have at least 8 people with us (6 of whom are participating in out 4th annual Drinking Around the World) - now whether or not the people next to us will want to be or not I can't say! Things usually start to go a stray by the time we get to Germany! And from the looks of that beer in the picture this year should be no exception!

Thanks for the reviews - we're really excited about trying it. The entertainment should be a hoot - especially after our first 4 stops! Don't worry though - we aren't out of control or castastrophic scene makers - although if DR starts speaking in some made up German sounding language - I take no responsibility!

Thanks for the posts everyone!

d-r; Sounds like a group DH and I would like to hang with! With a party that size you may end up with your own table. My best memory of the Biergarten is the "pretzel" bread with butter MMMMMMM!!! Have fun! (Edit): Seeing you are ALREADY there!
Have one for us! :teeth:

We have eaten there perhaps 6 times through the years. Its really simple - if you like authentic German food then you will like it very much. Especially Bavarian German food. Its the real deal for good German food.

DH and I ate there last Wednesday for lunch... it was wonderful.... the entertainment is great!

Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi :D

last time we had gone was in '96, and was let down in regards to service, waitress was too busy chatting to the next table who were German. People at the table with us (strangers) refused to tip her and told her why. She was not impressed. We had not been back but decided to give it a try last week - I swear it was the same middle aged German lady. Same problem! Pleasant in the beginning, but then they sat a German family at the next table and we didn't see her again until I had to interrupt her visiting to get the bill. In fact, I went up to bar to pour myself another glass of water. Another waitress saw me and came up horrified. Ask who our waitress was, when I told her and pointed her out, she just rolled her eyes. It was very disappointing and frustrating, and definitely our last visit there.

Our family is another one that loves Biergarten. We like the shows, the food, the theming -- and we have always had great service. My husband 'volenteered' for one of their activities and received free schnapps for his efforts. Something to keep in mind if you like schnapps!

I encourage people to try it unless they have had German food before and just don't like it. I think the variety of salads and meats is very good and the spatzle... yum! The only negative I would give it is the desserts. They're okay, but (in my opinion) nothing super special. But, we seldom have room for dessert, so it's not an issue for us...

Oh -- and if you decide to linger and catch a second show, they will be different.

Enjoy!!
