:wizard: My daughter and I have been going to Disney every August for several years. This year we vowed to try other restaurants instead of our usuals. I have read so many great things about the Biergarten and was considering it, but my daughter (22 yrs. old) doesn't eat beef or pork. She's a chicken or pasta girl. Would there be things on the menu that she can eat?pixiedust:

Yes. They have a type of chicken, and some pasta like foods, as well as potato salads and such. Plus desserts and breads.

Biergarten would be a great choice for her:cool1: we dined there a month ago and if she avoids the beef/pork meat dishes, she can chose from a wide variety on the buffet. each item is identified, so there's no chance of a mistake:) The buffet has many veggies, salads, starches and a wonderful baked chicken. Enjoy:hippie:

From what I recall, the buffet has a whole kid's section, which included alot of really standard non-German kid's fare such as mac 'n cheese and pasta with red sauce, but I could be wrong. There was alot of cold-cuts and cut cheese.... we have eaten there with our picky DS (2) and had no problems. The entertainment was GREAT. It has become one of our regulars after trying it last year.

I am a vegetarian from Germany and find the selection here outstanding, albeit somewhat Americanized (as are most WS offerings)

 Thanks for the answers...I'm confused by the comment of "some type of chicken and Pasta like foods"...so they have chicken? I know pasta isnt' German....it sounds like a fun place, but I'm just a little worried. My daughter is 22 so I don't think the Kids Menu would be for her....::confused3

There is definitely a german chicken dish (can't remember exactly what it was) and as for the "pasta like food" it was probably spaetzle. I can't say no to mac and cheese no matter that I'm almost 30. That aside, there will be enough food for her to eat, between salads and cold dishes and the chicken, potatos and spaetzle, plus yummy desserts.

I would try it. They have a lot of food to choose from. My younger children love it and have always found things they liked.

Oh, do tell! Vegan here, and we are trying Biergarten in September. What will I be able to eat? I've looked at the menu, but some of the names are not things I'm familiar with. Thanks!

I just ate at Biergarten a couple of months ago, as well as on previous trips, and I don't like the beef or pork they have there, so I specifically remember there being roasted chicken pieces (breasts, legs, thighs, etc), as well as fried chicken pieces. I think there would be plenty for your DD to choose from. :)

  • green salads
  • tomato salad
  • cucumber salad
  • spelt salad
  • roasted veggies
  • spaetzle
  • breads
  • other veggies

while that list doesn't look very long, it is actually a very good variety of items

Spaetzle is the "pasta", and yes there is chicken on the buffet. There's no "menu" to order from, it's all you can eat, so anyone can have whatever is on the buffet, kids and adults alike. http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_ger.htm So you know, I'm a vegetarian, and I ate quite well there.

The Chicken Schnitzel is a light breaded chicken breast, and they also have Rotisserie Chicken. There are some really wonderful salads, too, try the cucumber dill (to die for!) and beets, but it seems to me there were a dozen or more different cold salad items, more than any other buffet I have been to in WDW. Spaetzele is like a softer pasta, kind of mushy in my opinion, but worth a try, you might like it more than I do! But if not, fill up on warm pretzel bread...mmmm!

We have gone both trips and it is now a must-do every trip. The entertainment is fun, the atmosphere is great, and the food is very yummy!

If I may just chime in here...

I don't really like tomatoes and will not eat them by themselves (ketchup and tomato sauce with Italian foods are another matter)... but I scarf down the Biergarten tomato salad every time we're there. :goodvibes

My DW, DS and I really like that place. We do try to go there at least every other trip (every trip when we can).
