Biergarten - lunch vs. dinner?

I am debating between lunch and dinner ADRs at Biergarten. Does the band play at lunch? Just wondering if it is the same experience as dinner. Thanks.

We did lunch in July '09 and we wouldn't do lunch again. Yes, the band plays at lunch, but we found the experience to be "dead." The food was awesome and we loved it, but I really wanted my kids to experience all the great things I'd heard about Biergarten...the fun and dancing, etc.

We're definitely going back this coming June, but I deliberately made dinner ADRs.

We had lunch there in August and loved it! The band was fun and the food was great! If you make a lunch adr make it for around 1pm as thats when the band starts.

We are doing lunch this April. I was with just my boys in 08 and it was a stormy couple of days. We did Biegarten for lunch on the spur of the moment since the park was deserted. We loved it. We had been their about 3 years before dinner and it was busier.

I like lunch because it gives you a nice break in the middle of the day and if it is warm out, you get out of the heat for a nice meal. Also, I feel luch is less busier. I think they may have a little more choices at dinner, but lunch was great.
