My daughter recently did a school report on Germany, so we decided to eat in the German Pavilion this trip. Being in the 3rd grade, she just didn't understand what laderhossen (sp) were, so we had to see for ourselves.
We had ADR seating for 4:45 Thursday 6-2. We arrived at 4:45, and after a brief delay at the podium (people who didn't have ADR's wanting to know why the wait is 2+ hours), we were seated by 4:55.
We were seated with a family we saw early in the week at 50's prime time, who we knew were from our city because of the sports shirts (st. louis blues). I introduced ourselves, come to find out the lived less than 10 miles from our home. So it was nice to have something in common to chat about over the next hour or so. They were Disney NEWBS, so we were able to help them out quite a bit.
Our server came right over and took drink orders, I had a pint of beer, my wife had a reisling, and our kids (4 and 10) had chocolate milk.
All I can say is the food was wonderful. Many varieties of cold salad type items, then 4 or 5 sausages, then pork, beef, fish, then deserts. 2 identicle buffets, the one on the left seemed to be less crowded.
I am from German heritage, and had never had spaetzle before. Still not entirely sure what it is. An egg noodle of some kind, but I loved it. in fact, there was noting in this buffet i didn't like, and my kids were very happy as well.
The entertainment was quaint. My 4 year old and other went out and danced. I did feel it was a little short. maybe a 30 minute set.
We had 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 alcoholic drinks. the final bill was $150 including the tip. We all walked away extremely satisfied, and felt great value fore our money. The meal took about 1 hour and 15 mins.
This was my first trip to Biergarten in all my trips to WDW. it wont be my last.
