Good idea or not? We don't drink alcohol, but we love great food and fun. I know a lot of folks eat there for the beer. What about the food? Good enough to warrant a visit anyway?

Thanks!

Beer is secondary. It's first and foremost a buffet restaurant. If you like German food, you'd like it there.

Absolutely. The buffet is good and the entertainment is fun. Go and enjoy. When we went last time I didn't have the beer (DH was all about the litre steins of brew!), and I saw quite a few others who were drinking non-alcoholic beverages.

Alcohol has little if anything to do with the actual enjoyment! The setting is an "outdoor Octoberfest somewhere in Germany at twilight". Fabulous German fare, entertainment and dancing, first-rate service and no rush. It's one of our must do's every year:thumbsup2

The food is very good and I enjoy the entertainment. Just know that you will likely be seated with people who are drinking. My husband and adult sons hit it pretty hard there.

I think it would be like any restaurant - you don't need to drink to enjoy it (I stopped drinking last year anyway). I've never been but I think it would be a great place to go for the atmosphere and the food. :goodvibes

the food and the entertaiment at the biergarten are great we eat there at least once every trip

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to hear. LOL We have absolutely no problem with others around us drinking, we just wanted to make sure we wouldn't make anyone uncomfortable or stick out like sore thumbs if we weren't partaking. I love German food, so I think this will definitely make the list for our next trip.

Based on my many visits I would say more people are drinking soda (not me) than beer.

It'll be fine. Be advised that if you don't want to be seated at a table with guests drinking beer, that you get communal tables for 8 at Biergarten. I mention this because my group was seated with persons who got upset when we ordered beer.

Just be aware that others will be drinking. When you have a 22oz Becks and a German band strikes up, they are liable to start swinging and swaying the mugs, singing even. That being said, this is one of my favorite restaurants, buffet style, beautiful German women, the aforementioned band. Very family friendly though and I've never seen anyone outright drunk. Just happy to be in the World with good food, good music and a good buzz. A real meat & potato kinda place with a great selection of sides and deserts. Its my kids favorite spot to eat in Epcot. You'll get to know your neighbors at your table during the next hour & half so if you're not a "people" person, best to move on to another restaurant.

Sorry to hijack, but since some of you have been there I thought you might know... if you have an 8:05 ADR at Biergarten and the park closes at 9:00, how does that work? Do you have to head out right at 9:00, or will there be time to enjoy the music and food for a while?

It isn't a biergarten in the middle of Oktoberfest in Munich, it is a Disney restaurant with very very little emphasis on the beer. I've probably eaten there ten times and I've had beer exactly once.

You'll be fine.

We love Biergarten (and beer :thumbsup2)! The food is awesome and the service is great as well. Cannot wait to go back there. Don't worry about drinking or not - just go for the food and entertainment. You won't be sorry.

We got lucky last time and sat next to a very nice couple and we chatted the whole time. Both my husband and the other husband were drinking beers and me and the other wife had wine. All in all a great night. :)

Not to worry. There is no rush to finish your meal. The band may stop playing at 9:00, but they will let you continue to eat at your own pace until you are ready to leave. We ate a late dinner at R&C one year and didn't leave till almost 10:00.

However, once you leave the restaurant they will expect you to leave the park. They won't march you out quick time, but you won't be able to go into any of the other pavilions, etc. If you are using Disney transportation, you will have to be mindful of when they stop running. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem. 60-90 minutes is probably ample time for you to enjoy your meal.

We don't order beer (or other alcoholic beverages) and we really enjoyed eating there. The buffet is delicious, and the show is so enjoyable. As others have mentioned, others around you (or at your table) may be drinking, so if that makes you uncomfortable, you should reconsider. Happy eating!

My boyfriend and I do not drink and we had no problems eating here. We did not feel pressure to purchase alcohol or anything like that and our server very gladly brought me my cherry coke and my boyfriend his iced tea.
