Trying to finalize ADRs for our August trip and have been pondering the Biergarten. It sounds like great entertainment, and figure it would be a fun lunch, and that my DD would enjoy seeing the place.

However, she's a bit of a picky eater and I was wondering what there is for her to eat on the buffet? I checked out the menu and it looks like a duplicate of the adult menu - was there anything else there like the ever-so-popular chicken nuggets, etc?

I know it's sort of a cop-out to select a German place and then wonder if there is any non-German food, but we're on the DXDP and I'm sort of running out of places for ADRs . . . Thanks!

My 6 year old, German Husband and I (not a fan of German food) eat there everytime to Disney. My daughter actually enjoys the roasted chicken (drumstick or parts cut up) , the pretzel rolls are great, mashed potatoes and some of the beef roll up cut up. There is salad and plenty of veggies to be had and the desserts are great too, cookies, some sort of berry thing. It is one of the only places where she isnt STUCK with the chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese or pizza choice.

Plus the entertainment is fun, and the kids can go down and dance in front of the stage! Any way to burn some of that energy off!

My son is very pickey
Every resturant we have ever eaten in at DW has had French fries and chicken nuggets. Many were not on the menu but were easy to request.
Last year we got even got them in Epcot's Mexican Resturant.
I maybe wrong but I think they all have something a kid will eat.

My daughter Celeste, is also a picky eater, and we ate in France,
and you know how french food is to kids. She actually enjoyed it.
I suggest to take your chances and if she doesn't like anything than buy her other food afterwards.

Also, putting in my two cents worth Teppan Edo is another great stop. You cant go wrong with plain white rice and grilled chicken done in front of you ready in 5 minutes! (and YES they do have ketchup) One of my 6 year olds favorites!

Biergarten is the only restaraunt my son won't eat. We pay for him to eat an apple its sad but true. He wont even eat the pretzels and he likes pretzels.
No typical kids stuff like nuggets/ they do mac and cheese
We enjoy so we will still go!

My son is also one of the pickiest eaters. Not only picky, but eats so little I'm surprised he ever gains any weight. Biergarten is his absolute favorite restaurant in WDW. They have nuggets and macaroni and cheese to eat along with some potatoes, sausages.....that sort of thing. We love the atmosphere and show.

Things to be aware of:

if you want to see the show make sure you find out the show times and make your ADRs appropriately

the tables are long tables that seat 8....you WILL sit with other people if your party does not total 8

There is no Kids Menu per se at Biergarten. There is roast chicken and a Mac n cheese on the buffet though.NO chicken nuggets or tenders or anything like it though and they can't get it for you..My Dd is picky and ate the cold sausage and was fine. She also loved the pretzel bread

When did you go? they didn't have nuggets on the buffet anytime in Sept 08 ,09 or Dec 09..We looked and asked and they said they don't have them nor could they get them. They did have the MAc and cheese though

Thanks for the information - I really appreciate it! DD is the one child in America who doesn't like mac n' cheese, but I think she'll enjoy the pretzel bread, mashed potatoes and chicken.

If she likes soup they also have a really good potato Leek soup that is very tasty and would have familiar flavors, especially when you dip the pretzel bread in the soup. Plus the desserts are very good and they had a good amount of fresh fruit as well as vegetables that wern't overly seasoned. I really think even the pickiest eater would be able to find something they liked here as long as they were willing to try a few things instead of just writing stuff off without giving it a go.

My DD12 is also very picky. She loves Biergarten. Some of her favorites are the pork schnitzel (breaded pork filet), creamy potato soup, and spaetzle noodles. Desserts are good, too!

Well, I changed our ADR from Rose & Crown over to Biergarten at 2:00 p.m.

Last year, a good friend of mine and her niece came along on the trip so DD had a companion for rides, etc. This time around, it's us two old ladies (my sister and I!) and DD, so I'm trying to find some other "experiences" for her that don't involve rides, etc. And I also want her to try some different types of food. So far, we are going to Teppan Edo (which DD LOVED last year), Yak & Yeti and now Biergarten.

I think the Biergarten will be fun for all of us! Thanks for the help - I really appreciate it.

I have totally NOT picky kids, and my 9 year old didn't find a lot he liked at Biergarten. He ate a lot of pretzel bread and a lot of desserts!

I don't recall Biergarten ever having chicken nuggets. They have breaded chicken schnitzel, but that is not a nugget although it's breaded chicken. (Sometimes it's been pork schnitzel, but at last report it was chicken)

They do have macaroni and cheese.

MY ( now 11 ) was 7 and 9 when we last went and was VERY picky. He enjoyed it. SInce it's a buffet, it's easy to find SOMETHING.
