I didn't notice it, but as soon as we walked in, DW said it smelled like vinegar.

that would be the evil stench of Sauerbraten, beloved food of my family and many Germans (but not me!)

It looks like Sauerbraten isn't served at lunch. I'll definitely check it out this next trip.

see my problem is I don't know what spaetzel or schnitzel or saurbraten is?? My family is Italian, I don't think I've ever eaten German food besides like...danish? LOL Is there a kids buffet?

Spaetzle is a coarse noodle type dish, sometimes served with cheese

Schnitzel is a cutlet pounded thin and breaded and fried. I believe that at Epcot it is chicken and not the usual veal

Sauerbraten is meat marinated in vinegar and braised. Again, Epcot uses beef and not the more original horse meat

you don't need to know the foods - it is buffet so you can see everything before you taste

a danish pastry is not German but rather from DENMARK hence the term 'danish'

I made it a tradition to start the first night of my vacation at Biergarten. There is nothing better than daintily sipping a mug of beer bigger than your head in an atmosphere of fun and food.

I don't believe that anyone has mentioned Rudesheimer Kaffee - an adult coffee beverage with Asbach Uralt. A Biergarten must for bavaria

ah, yes, I forgot the pretzel bread!

most of the desserts are Americanized versions and the CMs and I often struggle to identify them (I come from a long line of German pastry chefs and trained in the kitchen in Germany) They are tasty, but don't all have a specific name and are somewhat modified to the American tastes.

the salad array is also very good - usually a tomato salad, cucumber salad, spelt salad etc
