Those of you who went both, lunch and dinner, do you think it's worth extra $$$ person for dinner?

And is 2nd level best view for the show?

Thank you

Lunch (cheaper but same experience). Also, with lunch, you can get so full that you spend less on dinner that day because you now want to eat lighter.
Both levels have equal enjoyment. Closer the better in my opinion

I believe this is the only buffet that still has a different price at lunch, so if you choose lunch, be sure to keep an eye on it to make sure they don't change this one too.

I noticed there's 2 other items at dinner that lunch doesn't have. I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping it. And also, becuase Rose and Crown musician show hours changed so if the Rose and Crown show is not worth it and Biergarten dinner is not worth the price, I need to switch my ADRs around. Biergarten for lunch and Rose and Crown for dinner. So hard to make decisions.

We did a later lunch (1:45-2pm ish) a few years ago and I thought it was terrible, DH thought it was good although I think the large mugs of beer and atomosphere swayed him. I have a feeling it was the late lunch hour and the fact that it wasn't that busy at that time but the food was meh. The hot food was lukewarm and the cold food looked like it had been sitting there for days. Being as it is the only thing he insists upon doing when we go to Disney I reluctantly made a dinner ADR when we returned in 2014. The reservation was for 5:45 and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. It was, without a doubt, our best meal on property that trip. We like to eat light all day and finish with a large dinner. One of the shows begins at 6pm so we have our ADR for a little before then to be settled eating to watch the show.

Both times we sat on the second level and had a nice view and had no complaints. I hope my input helps somewhat. Good luck and have a nice trip!

We only do lunch now at Biergarten (assuming it is still cheaper as they have been making other lunch/dinners the same price) as the extra cost is not worth just a few items. We enjoy the lunch menu, we still get the show and everything else. Also we prefer to walk off the big meal the rest of the day rather than eat that much at night.

They are pretty set in their seating of people. You are not given the option of not sharing a table and you are not given a choice on where you sit. We have seen folks walk out when they are told they must sit where they are taken. Have sat on all levels (there are four) and there isn't a bad seat in the restaurant.

Rose and Crown does not have any entertainment IN the restaurant that I have ever seen or heard of. The entertainer is in the PUB, at the far end away from the dining rooms. Not sure you could even hear it. The Pub is usually a very busy space for drinking mostly although it has it's own small menu. We've just walked in and sat down, it's a first come/first serve place.

Thank you so much for the info on the Rose and Crown. I didn't know the musician were not in the restaurant. I saw picture of the lady on the piano and just assumed it was in the restaurant. This makes it easier for me to make decision.

She's a lot of fun and interactive with guests, but it's in the pub.

Enjoy!

Aside from one or two items on the buffet, lunch and dinner are the same. I would rather save the extra $10 or so per person and eat lunch there.

Me too, definitely. The food is basically the same, the service the same, the show the same.

Although, I'm not sure what "the second level" means.

By the "second level", I mean the seating level. By looking at the pics, it looks like there's floor level then 2 more levels? Highest level looked little too far and floor level might be too close?

There are four levels, with first being floor, third being level you enter and where buffet is located, and a higher level up against wall. We have sat in all and they are all great views. The closer you are the louder it will be and folks may go out on the floor dancing.

But as I said, you have no choice. Most times we have gone the restaurant remained uncrowded and diners all seated close together for the servers to work more efficiently.

@HopperHan, thank you for the pics. Now I have better idea how the seatings are.

Here is a hint: If you are not a full party of 8, they will be putting others with your party. Wait close to the doors so when they call you name you can be the first group to get to them. If you are the first to enter and stay in front you can pick where you want to sit and if you are looking for a good view, take the seats closest to the rail (stage end of table).

Thank you again. Put your wonderful tips on my "daily cheat notes" so I can remember your tip.

That's not always true. We have been there twice in the past couple of years and not all eight have been led into the seating area together. It depends on how crowded the place is, I guess. The last time, just my husband and I were taken to a table where there were already six people seating and eating. A family of four getting into the show, and a couple next to us. The only two place at the table were for my husband and I and were at the end of the table. So, there is a chance this might happen.

Yes, I guess that can happen, and now that I think of it the first time we went years ago, we were four with a couple. We left seats between us empty. Then two singles were brought in. Maybe it's just small parties that are brought later.

We have never been less than four so we were always led to table as part of original group. We go at least once a year and every single trip we have been able to sit on the rail.

We did dinner once, when we had free dining, but otherwise we save a few bucks and do lunch every trip. The vast majority of the buffet is the same. I asked the chef once what the difference was and he said they have a different soup but that's it. I know a few people mentioned a couple dishes they hadn't seen at lunch but at least one I definitely have eaten then so maybe it rotates a little.

Even if there are a few less items though it's still an awesome buffet and we eat more here than just about any other Disney restaurant. Lunch is great!
