Biden's assets

I am not insinuating that Joe Biden has hair plugs, I am stating it emphatically. ;) Here is the evidence. I remember when he had it done. His head looked like a doll's head with "rooted" hair. He went from "mostly bald" to having a bald spot.

Is there a reason anyone should care about this?
Does this have some significance in his ability to do his job?
Come on Dawn...stop.
There is much you say that I agree with. There is much you say that I disagree with.

This is just asinine.

Obviously someone does, since I was asked if I was "insinuating" that he had plugs. I merely provided evidence. His hair has nothing to do with regard to whether he can do his job. What does matter is that his experience is irrelevant since he has been wrong on many major issues that this country has dealt with in his 35 years in the senate. On the other hand, if his net worth is $300K as he has claimed, than he hasn't used his money wisely, and that could include his hair plugs and reflect on his judgement.

If he has a pension that will give him 80% of his salary upon retirement as well as that fantastic health care plan we keep hearing about, why would he need more money socked away?

He did say that his home was his biggest asset during the debate.

Except for the fact that you originally took a pot shot at him regarding his "hair plugs and capped teeth" instead of discussing the topic at hand.

If you want to question his finances...fine. Let's discuss his finances. And posting links to some article isn't a discussion...it's posting a link.

But really...why take pot shots?

If you don't agree with his policies...good for you. Poking fun isn't mature conversation. It's immature.

My post asking DawnCT about her post about Biden having hair plugs was misunderstood by her. I could care less if he has hair plugs. I could care less if Sarah Palin has hair plugs. It is not relevant at all. I was just shocked that this was an issue for her when looking at his finances.

Somewhat hard to compare John McCain's finances to Joe Biden's - they both make the same money so why does McCain have so much more net worth? Oh, that's right he married a woman who was worth millions. Oh and isn't this the same woman who he had an affair with when he was, gasp, married to another woman?? If we must tar and feather people for their poor personal choices, shouldn't we use the same darn paintbrush?

So if we are going to get to comment on how candidates and their families spend money, how about what Cindy McCain spends on clothes? I realize that she is not running for President or VP but doesn't that go to their values? If the issue is that Biden spends $52K a year (potentially) on his commuter train, why isn't what the others spend on things at issue?

Me personally, I could care less if a candidate has a bunch of money socked away. I just want the country to be at a better place than it is today, right now. I think most people would agree that they would like to see the country move in a positive direction. Can we agree on that issue?

George Washington married a woman who was loaded, so did Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy. I'm sure that there are others but those I can name off the top of my head. Oh and didn't John Kerry marry a wealthy woman? His wife is worth $750 million. Cindy McCain is worth $100 million.

Part of his "working class" shtick is that he rides the train home to Delaware from DC every day.

But the train he rides is not a regular commuter train, it's Amtrak's Acela Express.

A first class ticket from Wilmington to Washington’s Union Station runs $111. That’s $222 a day. $1,110 a week. $57,720 a year.

The median household income in the United States in 2007 was $50,233. In other words, Joe Biden’s “regular guy” commute costs more every day than the typical American family earns, before taxes.

Not sure if we, the taxpayers, pick up that tab for his commute. But if he pays for it himself, perhaps that explains why he hasn't managed to accumulate many assets. Which doesn't give me much faith in his financial common sense.

I don't think it is for a working class shtick that he rides the train. He always did so he would be home with his kids when they were small. Most in Congress have a second home in the DC area.

That's a pricey commute! Also, I know that senators and congressmen have excellent health care plans, but I am not sure that they include hair plugs and full mouth crowns. I am also wondering if he had a little botox. ;)

I agree he looked like he had Botox. I hate that look.

I thought Jackie Kenndey family lost all thier money before they married. JFK was loaded.

Local real estate agents said the Biden property is worth at least $2.5 million
What he paid for it doesn't determine it's worth.

Why should Cindy McCain release her tax records, she isn't running for president.

Since you brought up records, Obama won't release and he is running for POTUS:

1. Occidental College records -- Not released
2. Columbia College records -- Not released
3. Columbia Thesis paper -- 'not available'
4. Harvard College records -- Not released
5. Selective Service Registration -- Not released
6. Medical records -- Not released
7. Illinois State Senate schedule -- 'not available'
8. Law practice client list -- Not released
9. Certified Copy of original Birth certificate - - Not released
10. Embossed, signed paper Certification of Live Birth -- Not released
11. Harvard Law Review articles published -- None
12. University of Chicago scholarly articles -- None
13. Record of baptism-- Not released or 'not available'
14. Illinois State Senate records--'not available'
15 His medical records

And has John McCain released all of these records. I don't remember seeing his Record of Baptism. Maybe I missed it; can you PM me a copy. Thanks.

I thought Jackie Kenndey family lost all thier money before they married. JFK was loaded.

They were East coast aristocrats and Joe Kennedy encouraged JFK to marry Jackie because it would improve his social standing. The Kennedys had money but on the social scale, the Bouviers outranked them and were considered better.

This hate you are spewing is really incredible to me. You dont even know this man. You see I do. I grew up next to him and when he lost half his family he moved away but still kept in touch with us folks from the old neighborhood no matter if we were Republicans or Democrats. He is a a very nice guy. No matter of political affiliation. Who put you in the position to judge and convict this man. Such hateful talk makes me sick. I hope no one ever treats you this way. Judges you without knowing you. Think about it. Really think about it.

He has said that he won't undergo a full immersion Baptism until after the election. If you're not baptized, you don't have a certificate!
You're welcome!:thumbsup2

How much money do you waste on your hair? Is it relative to the person you are?

How is it hateful to remember when someone got hairplugs? I'm missing something. Having the opinion that hairplugs are a luxury that is not affordable for most with few assets isn't a big suprise. I'd agree.

This whole discussion revolves around if the aforementioned 300,000 asset amount is possibly correct. Many of us think it's not because he obviously has income and the ability to spend money. I don't think that is attacking Joe Biden's character at all, simply questioning the statistic. In fact, I question the statistic inpart because of the respect I DO have for him.

People make fun of Sarah Palin's hair in her eyes. Thinking his hairplugs looked funny when he got them isn't that different IMO.

Yes, Dawn is clearly a Republican! She's quite outspoken about it, but I don't think that makes her comments any more rude than what's coming from the other side.

So maybe Biden has hair plugs and Palin spends a fair amount on fetching highlights and backcombs. As for teeth.....Both of their chompers looked "assisted white" to me, so they're even on that count. :thumbsup2

Let's see....John McCain has too much money and Biden doesn't have enough money. Gee, what is the exact amount of money a candidate should have socked away to be the perfect candidate? Do we have a formula for that yet? :teacher:

Let's get to the REAL deal-breaker for many of us regarding Sarah Palin: Granny panties, bikinis or thongs? :lmao: I mean, we need to know such important things before we cast our ballot, don't we? It speaks to character!

Come on......As I said to DH last night, "If one of us was sitting on a hefty Senatorial pension that is GUARANTEED to never disappear, along with fantastic health benefits for the rest of our life, I wouldn't be worried at all about socking money away in a 401K." He agreed. That pension will amount to a yearly sum that is more than most Americans make (even as a couple) at the HEIGHT of the income-earning years. Who among us can look forward to that? It puts eveything in a different light. My child(ren) would be attending the best schools, finest universities and the law school/med school, etc. of their choice and they wouldn't be taking out massive student loans to do so. We'd go on wonderful vacations while I still have the knees to walk miles per day. I wouldn't spend every cent, but I'd sure live a lot differently from a person who is NOT going to get that Senator's pension. (Meaning, me. :headache: )
