I agree with what you had said. But, if Shreyl is using a template, maybe it could be re-written in nicer and more helpful language. Sheryl wanted to start this venture up, but does need all of us to help her keep it going. If would be posters get scared offby her "nazi" attitude, where does that leave her site?? Her site is the most informative for Priceline ?, and I do plan on use it again--but will most likely not ask any questions. Thanks everyone for your imput!!
 
Pat, I don’t know where you heard that she’s a Priceline employee, but I would seriously doubt that. I’ve never heard that or gotten that impression in any way. I can’t imagine that Priceline would be too thrilled about an employee creating a website entirely dedicated to minimizing Priceline’s profits.
 
Personally I think she would be better of creating an actual webpage instead of a messageboard, at least for the homepage. That way people would land on her FAQ information, when they go to her site. Then having the message/help board only be a secondary part of the site. I know when I first go to a new message board I am not inclined to read the FAQ's. I generally will skim the first page of posts and then if I don't see the answer to my question I post it.

I was raised to believe you can catch more flies with honey then vinegar. And her site stinks of vinegar. :)
 
I agree with what so many others have said.

That site is an invaluable tool if you want to use Priceline sucessfully. I'd never use Priceline without doing my homework on biddingfortravel first. It almost always allows me to know ahead of time which hotels I'm likely to get, and prevents me from overbidding.

Yes, Sheryl can be terse, but I think Pat is right....she has several "canned" responses, all in the interest of saving her time. And there are people who apparently refuse to read the FAQ, refuse to use the bidding form, and basically just want the moderators on that website to personally hold their hand and walk them through their individual bids.

And I'm almost certain Sheryl isn't a Priceline employee.

The board has been so helpful to me that I'm not going to criticize Sheryl's manner. Almost every successful bid I've made, I've got exactly the hotel I expected. My dh thinks I'm some kind of genius.
