Bice, Tchoup Chop, or The Palm?

Special night out just the wife and me - where would you go and why? I've narrowed it down to those three.

My vote would be Tchoup Chop. The atmosphere is great, with good food and service. The prices are reasonable too.

I was disappointed with The Palm. I was surprised that no side items are included with the steak. They have to be purchased seperately. Considering the price, I thought my steak was underwhelming. At least the service was good.

As for Bice, I can't comment on it as I haven't been to it yet.

Tchoup Chop really looks beautiful and the menu is interesting. Bice features Northern Italy cuisine, but we already have ADRs for Tony's at the MK and likely will eat at Mama Dellas at PBH, where we are staying, so we're already kinda "Italianed" out. I think it's Tchoup Chop.

All three are wonderful choices but for me it would be between Bice and Tchoup Chop. If you are looking for more romantic night, Bice would be tops. Want something more casual but still fun then Tchoup Chop. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money at either (with Bice being a bit more pricier). I have had only negative experiences at Mama Della's so I can not give a good opinion on that.

I would say Tchoup Chop. It has food and atmosphere that you won't see many other places. Bice and the Palm are good, but not as unique.

As with any restaurant, everything depends on the night you go. I've never been to Bice, but I've been to the Palm and Tchoup Chop. We hit the Palm on a great night and had the best steak and lobster we've EVER had. Expensive, but very well worth it when we went.

We went to Tchoup Chop on a weekend when they were very busy and ended up with terrible food poisoning. We were sick the rest of the week and they did nothing to make up for it. I heard after our experience that that's pretty typical for Tchoup Chop on weekends. If they're busy with weekend or convention crowds, the service and the food quality go out the window. On weekdays, they're said to be really great.

Unlike an earlier poster, we had a fabulous experience at Mama Della's. We really felt like we were part of the big Italian family, and the food was wonderful. That's our new pick for date nights, even though they were great with the kids.

I think you're going to get mixed reviews for every resort restaurant. They all change staff frequently, and everyone has good and not-so-good days. Good luck, and happy eating!

Palm is excellent but as alluded, on the same order as the Shula's and Ruth Chris' of the world.

We have been to Tchoup chop twice and have not liked it either time. Great decor the first time when it opened - second time last year a little more run down. We always have been there during the holidays so possibly as someone pointed out, the "busy factor" resulted in pretty bad food.

We have been to Bice location before it became Bice (another Italian rest name eludes us). That is a great location for a quiet romantic meal in a great setting (consistent with the Portofino theme) if that is what you are looking for.

The other two places are definately more "happening" where Bice should be quieter.
