When my daughter turned 3 for her birthday she got all done up at the BBB in downtown Disney. We were there in March and she wore a Snow White dress exactly like this one:

This year we are going in August and I don't think the above dress (or similar) would be compatible with the 90+ dress temperature.

Do you know of any summer type of dresses or Disney costumes that we could look at for a 4 year old and a 6 year old?

Something that's a bit dressy, Disney(ish), but also good for the summer temperature?

I made princess sundresses for my nieces. There are lots of people that sell them on ETSY. You can also go to the Disboutique thread and find out names of those that sell and see some of the dresses they have made.

There is a brand called Little Adventures that makes washable princess dresses that are non-layered and non-itchy. We have probably seven of their dresses and LOVE them. My kid has spilled everything on them - fruit, pasta sauce, birthday cake, ice cream, popsicles - and it all washes out. They are also super, super comfortable. My daughter wore the Anna dress in MK for a whole 90 degree day - refused to take it off, kept saying she was not hot. So it must have been okay!

I also like that they are reasonably priced ($25-$30), unlike Disney Store dresses that can run $65 at full price. We buy our Little Adventures dresses from a website called My Dress Up Trunk, and they have free shipping.

Their Anna coronation, Princess Sofia, Ariel, Tiana, Cinderella, and Belle dresses all have short sleeves, which would be nice for summer.

I have also made my daughter several princess dresses using patterns from an online seller called Made for Mermaids. They are easy to make (all elastic; no buttons or zippers!) so if you are handy, you can whip up a couple of those in breathable fabrics!

Last summer, we bought quite a few sundresses from kohls that were designed to look similar to Disney princess dresses. (We had an Elsa, Anna & Cinderella one) not sure if they will have them again this year but it's certainly worth keeping an eye out for.

When our girls wanted princess dresses in summer, we only gave them Tiana as an option, because that dress has a tank top.

I have ordered tutu's online, and paired them with a princess themed tank or light cotton t-shirt. The tutu can smoosh into a ziplock when it gets hot and itchy. You can get them for like $6. The outfits made for cute pictures too. I have two DD so for one set of pictures we did Anna and Elsa shirts that said sisters on them and then one of them had a light blue tutu while the other one had a blue that matched Anna. They wore shorts underneath so when the heat got to be too much it was simple to pull the tutu off, no need to pry a sweaty princess dress over their heads.

I'm making some nice light 100% cotton sun dresses that contain the "essence of Disney" Here is Minnies - and as you can tell, she will fit right in.

Last time we went in March we had a lot of options. The issue now is the August heat. Makes it tough to wear anything other than shorts and a tshirt.

We went in August last year and we did the t-shirt/tutu option that BBB had. I guess a lot of parents just buy one of the fancy nightgowns too but my LO who was 4.5 at the time loved the t-shirt and tutu. She doesn't like being hot so she was really happy with it and actually didn't ask for a fancy costume!
