Hi

We are planning to take DD11 to BBB, she's too old (she says) for the full princess makeover but would like to have her hair, make up and nails done before we go to dinner at Narcoossee's (sp?)

Should I make a reservation for her or is it possible to just turn up on the day?

If she has a morning appointment will the effects last into the evening on a hot August day?

On a different note, can't believe that its less than a month til we go just the small matter of a weding before that though

I booked an appointment for my girls when we went as I didn't want to be hanging around with a pager for too long.

both of my girls makeup lasted for quite a long time and you are given the palette that they use to top-up.ther hair style lasted for ages as they use soooo much spray...just don't walk next to a naked flame

I think I took it down a bit at a time until we finally had to wash their hair. Have fun your DD will love it.

I would book .. when we went past it seemed really busy, I think the one at DTD is meant to be a lot quieter than the one in the castle

I took my DD to BBB for the hair & make-up our last trip - if you are going to the MK one I would book. Also I would tend to go for a bit later if it has to last to the evening or she may be melting in the sun!

My daughter had her make up and hair done 2 years ago and loved it. She was 15 at the time It looked really nice and she liked being fussed over.

my sister had her hair and makeup done for our wedding, her appointment at dtd was 10:30am on sept 2nd so very hot and we didnt get married till half two, it was all still perfect when we got back from our dessert party at 10pm

The next day her hair was still the same!

they do a hannah montana pop star makeover that might be more her age, i have dd 10 and her friend booked for that, however ive seen much older girls and adults having the princess one too.
definatly book that place is so ramo busy its nuts!

The DTD BBB will be much quieter than the MK one. In fact, I should imagine that a walk-up at MK would be almost impossible, especially during the peak season. So, if you want the MK one, definitely book.

The other thing you have to watch out for is special events, like PPP or MNSSHP, or national holidays like Labour Day. Again, they will make the BBBs in both locations extremely busy, and walk-ups on those day will be near impossible to get. Since the MK one opened, the DTD one has got a lot quieter, at least it was last year for us, and we went there to get done-up ready for the MNSSHP.

If it's important - like we always go in the morning of the MNSSHP - then I would definitely book. There is nothing worse than getting there as a walk-up to find they are just so busy they won't be able to fit you in, or if they can, it won't be until 5pm or something silly. If it's just a treat, a spur of the moment, we'll-do-it-if-we-can kind of thing, then you can probably get away with a walk-up, but be prepared to wait a long time.

Best advice - book anyway! They have early and late appointments. Just remember that if you don't show up at all or cancel within 24hrs of the appointment, you will be charged, which is why they take a CC number at time of booking.

Thanks for all your great advice and suggestions, I will definitely book!

We were planning to go to the DTD one as we're staying at OKW so we can get the boat there and there's lots of stuff there for me to keep DS13 amused with while his sis gets the works lol

We did suggest the Hannah Montana makeover but she didn't want that either, maybe she'll change her mind when we're in there!
