I may take my daughter and her friend to Bibbity Boppity Boutique for the basic makeover. They are 12 and this is the last chance they will have to do this before they are too old. They are a little mature for it, I admit, but I think they would enjoy it since they have been best buddies since they were little and were “princess obsessed”. Has anyone taken their older daughter? Also do you know if there are any options on the hairstyle at the Disney Springs location OTHER than what is listed…..for example…can they do a simple up – do or something other than the 3 pre set options? This is kind of their lst “hurrah” as princesses before they age out of BBB and turn into official teenager…LOL

They only do the preset hairstyles at BBB, which I don't love. My four year old did love it though. I think I commented on a question you asked previously, but you could take them to the Ivy Trellis Beauty and Barber Shop, which does do real up dos, make-up, and nails. I actually think that might be perfect for kids their age. A little more sophisticated than BBB but still princess centered.

can or cant? I called and spoke to a lady who said they work with the girls to be sure they were happy, but would not be able to do anything elaborate....which we are hoping for more simple so hopefully it will work out... :)

They will not deviate at all from the 4 hairstyles on the brochure. That is all they do and they are not allowed to change or modify them (other than some tricks they need to do to work short hair into one of those hairdos). They might have fun with it anyway, but be aware they will likely be the oldest girls there. Most of the girls are in the 3-6 range with a few older. DD (9) did it for a few years and really enjoyed it. The last time she did it she was 8 and she was definitely the oldest girl in the place. She still had fun, but at age 9, although she still likes Princesses, she said she was just too old for it as she was the oldest last time and is now a year older. Maybe if she had not already done it for a few years, she would have felt differently. Walking around they will automatically be identified by the CMs and anyone who knows the BBB as having been there by the hairstyles. They might think that is fun, or they might not like looking like a whole lot of little kids that you will run across look. I would show them the hairstyles and ask them if they are interested in doing it. I think if DD had a friend who would go with her and they could have the "little girl" hairstyles together, she might still think it was a lot of fun.

Does anyone have a pic of the latest choices? My 11yo and her BFF are also taking their last trip soon as part of her birthday. I just did a search, and only came up with the brochure we are already familiar with, but she thought she had seen something different when we were in MK before Christmas.

They're planning on just doing the hairstyle, not dressing up. Its funny how kids are, my older two were able to do it twice before the rules were changed, and they were older teens then, now young adults and jealous they can't do it anymore. My friends and I did it together when we were celebrating one of us turning 40, and had a blast. I guess we are all princesses at heart. :)

The hair styles are the same as they were before ... I haven't seen anything different; and I've looked.

This is an issue for us because DD1 loves the princess make overs, but will be aged out by her next trip, so we are looking for something different.

Check out this thread I started (it has info on the Disney salons as well as updating information about the princess makeover at the Four Seasons):

Hope this helps.

have you looked into the makeovers at The Ivy Trellis at the Grand Floridian? They dont have the same age limit...

Yes, the info is in the thread I posted.

Their princess package has an age limit (4-12).

The individual elements do not have an age limit, but hair and make-up (no tiara, no nail polish) costs $225.

The last time my daughter went she was 11. She got the diva I think it is called. Her hair was put up in a ball and the extra hair was pinned on. You could go with the courtyard package. Costs a little more because it comes with a t-shirt and skirt; but the hairstyle might be more in line with simple.

Just in case anyone wanted the info:

Here is the info from the Four Seasons:

I did ask a few questions:

They do not have an age limit for this, but the oldest they have done so far is around 14-15 years old. The only reason (they think) is because most girls do the Royal Treatment which includes a dress and they only have dresses up to a size 12.
The Belle of the Ball package includes crystal hair accessories (hair clips) but they will sub a crystal tiara at no charge.
The up-do depicted on the brochure is not the only one they will do; they can change up the styles a bit to suit you. If you have something specific you are looking for, call and ask if you can email them a picture to see if it will fit in their parameters.

They can't deviate from the hair styles at all. It's something to do with not being licensed, so there's a restriction on what's allowed.

this is exactly the reason. They do not have cosmetology licenses so they can only do EXACTLY what they have been trained to do.

I'm not sure if this was in response to what I posted above or because of something else.

BBB can not deviate from the hairstyles at all, but the Four Seasons salon (which my post was about) can to a certain extent. For instance, if you want an up-do but don't want a bun, they can find another up-do you may like.

Exactly. The stylists at 4 Seasons are licensed, the BBB are not.
