Hi everyone :) First, I'll vent. I've been thinking about this for a while, but never really looked into it. I'm 13, and I LOVE the Disney princesses!! I found the BBB and thought it sounded perfect! I've heard about people from 3 to at least 80 going... But, 13?? You would think that's a little old to get a makeover that's like the one's at Libby Lu (Which I've gotten in the near past, hehe).

So, what do they do to you? And what can you add and does anyone have pictures? Sorry about all the questions! If this sounds awesome, I have 5 months to raise money for it! YAY!

Thanks! :lovestruc

I think you could make it a fun Mom & Daughter activity. But I think a thirteen year old is too old to do it by herself. I would do it with my daughter. Most of the girls you see having it done are between 5 and 9. I think she would feel childish/embarrassed to do it by herself.

It's me ;) Good idea though! What packages are available?:confused3

My daughter (age 12) just did it in January with her sister (age 10). They both loved every minute of it. They talked about it the rest of the trip, and I have some wonderful pictures of them. While they were there, they were told that they are going to start doing Hanna Montana make overs soon, so they are planning to do it again this summer. I don't see anything wrong with a 12 or 13 year old doing it alone, if this is something they want to do. Why care about what other people think.

I guess it depends on if you want to look like a princess or not. I know they have a rock star type "do" where they put colored hair and braids to make you look more like a rock star then a princess. It's a little wild for me (I am 40 after all) but my cousin's DD had this one and it looked like something for a girl more your age then a 3 year old. I can't help you with the prices though I am sure someone here can. I know you have the options of just the hair or with nails and makeup too, and then there is the option for a costume too.

i went and looked it up for you :)

Go for it! It's your vacation and it's DISNEY WORLD!!! Enjoy your experience and come back and let us know how it went. Have a blast!

Go for it. You're on vacation. Have fun. You'll learn in life that you'll be a lot happier doing things that make you happy and don't worry about everyone else.

First, I have to compliment you on your grammar and spelling. Most thirteen year olds on the internet can hardly speak in full sentences, but you speak like a grownup! Good job! :thumbsup2

Next, I'm 19, and I'M thinking of doing BBB so don't feel ashamed at all. The way I look at it, you're never too old to be a princess! Heck, I wear a tiara whenever I go to the parks! :wizard:

If you want to get a makeover, go for it! It's Disney! :goodvibes

Yay!!!!!!!

Ok, here's my excuse now, hehe.

My cousin is coming down, she's an adult, and she has 3 boys and 1 girl (whom, may I add, is adorable!)! So, the little girl doesn't really do much girly stuff, but she LOVES Disney and the princesses! I decided that the first day they're with us, we'll go and get the Crown package (Maybe the one with the dress for her) It will be so much fun! I haven't seen her in 3 years, but when we went to NY last, she was clinging to my side, lol. Well, I have another question, do they have adult sized dresses? LOL

My daughter will be 13 in less than 2 months and I think she would love to do the BBB.

I say -- Go for it!

Okay...here is my question. My 10 year old (will be 11 at the time) really wants to do this. Can the stylists there do African American hair? Her hair is fairly short (long enough to get in 2 little pony tails on the sides of her head) and relaxed. Anyone had any experience with BBB and African American hair?

I also want to compliment you on your grammar!! I definitely thought you were the mother of a 13 year old at first. I had to go back and re-read your post!

There is a great thread here on the disboards about the BBB. They'll answer any questions you have and the ladies are all really friendly. There are even some Fairy Godmothers in Training that answer questions:

You're definitely never too old to look like a princess!! They won't let anyone 13 and older wear a costume around the parks, though.

Honey, live it up! If you want itenough to pay those prices, knock yourself out and who cares what other people think?

Thanks everyone! Hah, and I have been told I have horrible grammar! I just have to print this out.

There were two little girls there at the same time as my DDs (African-American) the BBB did the most beautiful job....they were adorable. If I am not mistaken both girls had short hair and they put it in the cutest little bun.

I think your DD will LOVE it and they will do a wondrful job!

Hey, I think that is great that you are obviously confident enough to say "Hey, I like princesses and I DO think I would like to do this"...

I am right there w/you..because the only thing I would change for my next WDW vacation is that I (39) will be taking a crown along for me to wear at the parks.

You can choose whatever princess you like,,but a suggestion may be Tinkerbell? When DD5 first chose Tinkerbell I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed as I thought for sure she would want to be a more 'glam' princess. When they turned her around she looked so beautiful!!!! The 'crown' was actually a head wreath that I thought was so beautiful and kind of 'natural'. Something I think almost any age could wear!

Here is a pic.

Whatever you choose I think you will have fun and be glad you did.

My DD did it at 10 and she looks a lot older. She loved it and had a lot of fun! The fingernails didn't fit, so the Fairy Godmother used polish on the thumbs and thumb nails on the fingers, they only lasted through the night and they all came off. I'm sure your mom would love to go with you!

My dd 8 did this is Jan. She loved it! She did the crown pkg, hair, makeup, nails. I bought a nice discounted dress before we went to the world and forgot to take it:headache: , I think $179.00 is alot of money for the pkg which includes the costume.

She still really felt like a beautiful princess and she was so proud, no matter what she wore.

I think you should do it.

You get to take home the extra fingernail polish, makeup. They supply the barretts and hair extensions. All you have to do is make a reservation and show up :)

My ds had the 'Cool Dude' package. Its hard to tell from these pics but he had spiked gel hair, colored hair tips, and fairy dust with a mickey head painted on the back of his head. He felt super COOL!

AND he didnt feel out of place :)
