We are planning our first trip to WDW for this summer, I have two girls who would LOVE to have the royal treatment in the BBB, I have seen the prices and they scare me! So it seems like I read that you can bring your own dress from the disney store so that you don't have to buy the dress from the BBB, if you do this will you still be able to get the crown/sash/hair done without buying the dress/shoes? If so how much does it normally save you to buy your dress ahead of time? And how far out do you make your ressie? Should I make ours with our ADR's next week?

I haven't yet done this as I have one under the 3 who would be very jealous of her big sis, but here's some info:

Yes, you can have your kids wear their own dresses. I believe they take reservations starting at 180 days prior. Here's some copied info on the packages:

Girls 3 years old and above can choose from 3 hair styles — Fairytale Princess, Disney Diva and Pop Princess — in 3 available packages:

* Coach Package includes hairstyling and shimmering makeup — starting at $49.95 plus tax.
* Crown Package includes hairstyling, shimmering makeup and nails — starting at $54.95 plus tax.
* Castle Package includes the Crown Package plus the Imaging Package (one 6" x 8" and four 4" x 6" photos in a princess-themed photo holder) and complete costume of your choice with accessories — starting at $189.95 plus tax.

The optional Imaging Package includes one 6" x 8" and four 4" x 6" photos in a princess-themed photo holder.

I'm a little envious that your little girls want to go to BBB.My little girl just turned 23. She might think she's outgrown the BBB, but I think she'd make a cute princess.:goodvibes

We went in Jan 2010 and I took a dress from my 6 yr old daughter. They let her change in their chaninging room at the MK location which was very cool! We also had a crown so we took that too. One of the hair style options includes a crown and the other one (that has hair extensions) costs extra for the crown. We were very pleased with the $55 option....hair style, makeup, nails, sash and crown (if you chose the hair style option that had crown included). The nails polish and make up were hers to keep. The nail polish was a very light pink. I could have easily have done that and even jazzed it up with some glitter...but my daughter seemed to enjoy the experience of having the fairly godmother do it and for $5 more it was worth it. We had a reservation for 8 am so we entered the MK park b4 it officially opened...that was COOL and she had ALL day to enjoy her makeover. I treid to tip the fairy godmother but she said no tips were allowed. have fun! princess:

Thanks so much the crown was what I wondered about with the less expensive packages and very nice tip about getting into the park early to get the makeovers!

Stacey--thanks, I know that if my little one wasn't 3 yet we would have had an issue with the older one doing it and her not being able to..thank goodness my youngest turned 3 this year!

Mouse's shadow--your daughter most def. can be a princess still, we all have a little princess in us right?

I had originally made the 8AM appt for my DD11 and then realized the first ride she would want to go on would be Splash Mountain - and there would go the hairdo! So we switched to 11AM and will ride all the wild rides first. Just a thought.

Last year, we brought my DD's Cinderella dress along with us that we bought at the Disney Store. She still got the royal treatment :thumbsup2! DD wanted a certain crown that they didn't have, but Tinkerbell made it all possible and she got the crown she wanted! A tip for ya... if your DD has an American Girl doll take it along. I bought my DD a Cinderella dress from the Once Upon a Toy store for her doll in DTD and the fairy godmothers at BBB pampered the doll about as bad as DD was pampered! They even did the dolls hair and sprinkled the doll with pixiedust:! Have fun!!!

GOOD thinking! since this is our frist trip I'm not sure what kinds of faster rides my girls can go on (3y/o and 4y/o) but I'll do a little research on that before deciding on the appt time! Thanks so much!

That is just awesome! My girls will love to bring their dolls along, thanks for that tip!
