Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

we did the castle package (I think that was the name of it) and my daughter chose Sleeping Beauty. When she was sent to her dressing room, the whole outfit was magically there and layed out so beautifully. She was so impressed that it was there and we never saw anyone walk in there. Later I did notice one of the fairy godmothers in training walk in with a garment bag, but it was very discreet. That is the only advantage I see to buying the dress there. My daughter was 8 and is tall for her age, so we had trouble finding a dress fro her until we went to the BBB at Downtown Disney. It was a wonderful experience and she was so beautiful when they were finished. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw how happy she was to see herself in the mirror!

She was actually really rude and cut me off saying they don't do nails anymore. She wasn't very nice otherwise as well- told me that my daughters name was weird- no joke! fyi her name is Piper which yes is a little unusual but not totally out there!
I had been on the phone all morning with dining, reservations, pinocchios workshop, etc and then called BBB. I was a little shocked by her attitude.
Hopefully she was wrong about the nail thing:)

How rude ~ and not cool :sad2:

My DD's 1st BBB visit was similar ~ but I brought her Easter dress from home ~ in my PP you can see a link to her experience. I discreetly asked if she could change in a dressing room and handed the dress to a FGMIT ~ so while she had seen the dress before it was still a special experience for her. For the following visits it's kinda BTDT ~ she goes in already dressed in her costume.

I can't believe she told you that your daughters name is weird! I'm really shocked!

and btw I've known several girls named Piper. I think it's an adorable name and not at all weird or out there. Maybe she heard you wrong? And thought you said something else?

Sniper? Hyper?

No but seriously, that's awful. Even if you did name your kid a weird name that's really REALLY rude to SAY that to someone! And you would expect a lot more from disney.

And with the nail thing..I'm sure they do it. I've heard of times that didn't offer it when someone showed up to their apt. But, it was because they ran out of nail polish. Not because they're not offering it anymore. So hopefully she was just wrong all over the place. Make sure you post after your trip to let us know!

Yeah- like I said I had been on the phone with all the dif disney numbers that morning and had nothing but the "magical" a little over the top service that I expect.

This girl was just plain rude- rushing me through things, cutting me off (the nail comment) an she asked me to spell Piper's name- then said "oh- that's weird. Like Pied Piper or something? Where did you think of that?" lol

I could care less what anyone thinks, and didn't care enough to later complain to anyone but yeah- very unusual service.

I can't believe she said that!!!!
BTW, I have a good friend whose daughter is named Piper :thumbsup2

:)

Yeah- really rude.

I knew there was something else she had said that was off (besides interupting me and the whole name thing) and I remember now!

She asked what time I wanted and I said do you have something around 3:30 to 3:45 please? She said "well we have a 3:30, a 3:40 and a 3:50. So which is it?" ..very coldly.

I seriously thought I had called somewhere non disney!

Ok. lol. That's it. I know that none of this has anything to do with the actual experience at the BBB (we've had nothing but good experiences there!)

Here are some pics of Piper in June (in the WDW BBB)

Weird...like I said, I called a few days ago to make an apt for Feb 24th. And when she asked what package I wanted I said I wanted the hair/makeup/nail package. She was actually really rude and cut me off saying they don't do nails anymore. She wasn't very nice otherwise as well- told me that my daughters name was weird- no joke! fyi her name is Piper which yes is a little unusual but not totally out there!

Maybe I should be prepared because my daughter's name is Piper as well. I will be calling in a few weeks to make her app. for our trip.

I'd be pissed! And I would've complained!!

My DD name is Brookelyn and everyone always forgots the "e" and it drives me up the wall!

I love the BBB but I still can't believe how tight they can make the hair! Haha! :)

I know! And the gel! It's so much! We got hers (above in pics) done on a wed morning. It survived a day in the MK, an afternoon in the pool (underwater and everything) a day at Universal (and more pool time) and then a day in Epcot before she asked to have it out. And not because it needed to come out (it looked perfect still) but because her head hurt. lol.

She knows about her BBB apt next month and she thinks she is going to do the pink hair extension one (which I really am not a huge fan of but oh well) because she desn't want the pain:) But she is getting the Tangled Rapunzel dress (which I'm still on the hunt for- eek!) so at least it will match!

I prefer the Disney Store version of the Rapunzel dress over the parks version *which you can get (Park dress) from the ebay seller I mention in my 1st post of this thread - for 1/2 the price it'll cost you in the parks. A week ago I spent an hour or more calling all the Disney stores in AZ, CA, TX & IL + the 1 Disney Store in UT - not a single one had it in her size *I'd prefer a Med. I found a couple SM and lots of XXS & XS. BTW I've ordered from out of state Disney stores twice now ~ you just place your order over the phone and they ship the item to you :thumbsup2

DD's Rapunzel dress is coming all the way from England ~ I ordered the UK Disneystore.com's version and had it shipped to my fiance ~ *who lives in England, he's moving out here late Feb/early March and he'll bring it with him ~ *here it is* .... ETA *hey it might work* and it looks as though my link doesn't work, well if you want to see it go to www.disneystore.co.uk and do a search for Rapunzel ~ it would come right up and is £28.00 - which after shipping was pretty much $50 which would be what it would cost me +tax & shipping if I found it here in the states.

Thank you! My local store is out, as well as the US online store so I was in a panic. I even sent a msg to the ebay lady you had mentioned and she told me she might get some in over the weekend.

Is the UK one the same as the US online one? I can't really tell... It looks more purply? Darker maybe? I am highly considering gettting it...

I haven't seen the one in the parks yet though- how does it vary?

The UK version is a bit different ~

Here's the park costume ~ http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEY-WDW-RAPU...259?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33641376ab

Here's the US Disney Store costume ~ http://www.disneystore.com/tangled-rapunzel-costume/mp/1268771/1000052/

You could start calling there are a lot of Disney Stores in CA, IL, AZ, TX - just go to *store locator* at www.disneystore.com or go to www.switchboard.com search for "disney store" in a state, don't put anything else but the state ~ here's what it looks like for *CA*

mom2aidanNpiper – thank you so much for those pictures! I showed them to my daughter and she is so excited! (By the way, I feel like calling and pretending my daughters name is Piper when we book. LO!!!!) I love the name personally!

I'm wondering though... if I just do a smaller package for 50.00, and only want the dress from the castle package, not the wand, shoes and portrait package... could I buy the dress there and add on to the $50 package and it come out less than the $200+ Castle package? Does that make sense?

That should work, purchase whichever package you want and add what you want ala carte. Don't feel pressured in to upgrading your package to get it all.

My daughter's done BBB three times - the first time we went all out and bought the dress with the works. The second and third time, we bought a special occasion dress, brought it with us, and got the less expensive package. This last time we did it I surprised her; she thought she was just wearing her special dress because it was her birthday and when we walked up to the counter she couldn't believe I had made a surprise reservation! Her smile was priceless!

Now you are just freaking me out. My DD(Piper) wants the same hair and we are also on the lookout for the Rapunzel dress. LOL
