Has anyone taken a little girl to this yet? I wonder how long the basic (hair and makeup) package takes to get done? Also, do they provide a tiara with this package, or do you need to bring (or buy) your own?

I'm thinking of letting my 5 year old do this before the Perfectly Princess Tea, but I want to make sure we have enough time to get to the salon, have her hair done, and then get over to the Grand Floridian by 10:15am.

Thanks!!

I think it was about a half hour. There is a hairstyle your daughter can choose that has a tiara in it, otherwise she doesn't get one. Be warned this took a big chunk out of our day to do this. You want to get there at least a half hour early, then hopefully they aren't running behind (they weren't for our appt everything went right as scheduled). Our problem was we went to a park, then to Bippity, then back to a park. In order to do this we had to go to a hotel first to get on a bus to get to DD and the parks. But you should be fine since you are going directly to a hotel for the tea.

Yes, this is my fear. We're at POFQ, so we can get to DTD pretty easily. I figure we'll get the first morning appointment at 9am, hopefully be done by 9:30/9:45, and then try to get to the Grand Floridian on time for the Tea. They want us there 15 minutes early, so 10:15. (Will I have to get to MK and then monorail to GF?) I think this will work.

We loved it. It took about a half hour to be done so about 45 mins altogether. It was rainy the day we went so we skipped the costume!

I love your pic Amy. That is really cute.
We are going in August. We have a 9:30 appt. and an 11:30 dining at Planet Hollywood. We are staying at POFQ so I was thinking of the same traveling problem. I am excited and looking forward to it. MY DD's are 12 and 10 so it should be fun. They still want to be princesses yet and I say let them be little for as long as they want! Kids grow up too fast IMHO. Here we come!!! :thumbsup2

It takes between 30-45 minutes. Depending on the hairstyle the tiara is included. My DD got the Fairytale Princess and it was included. If your DD chooses one of the other styles you can still buy a tiara right outside the boutique.

I can't help with travel time. I have my own car when we go to Disney. If you think the timing might be to tight with the bus you could always call a cab. That should get you there quicker.

You can peek at her BBB pics in my link. She had a great time! I even booked her again in October. :goodvibes

Oh she had the coach package (the middle one) and I brought her favorite dress from home since she has very sensitive skin and the dress is very silky not scratchy. I bought it in the dress up aisle at Target. She prefers that dress over the $$$ white coronation gown she wore for halloween... :rotfl:

We have a reservation for this September for our 2 girls and can't wait!!!

There isn't a bus that goes from DTD to MK, so just hop on the bus to GF.

Thank you. This is good to know! Any idea how long the bus takes? Or can I find this info online somewhere?

Thanks for posting pictures, Amy and Lynn. Both of your daughters are just precious!

Always plan a good hour when it comes to buses....
have fun at the Boutique...it is a lot of fun...and dont forget it is open to all ages...My bridesmaids took me a few days before my disney wedding......they loved having us...and the pictures are priceless....
So feel free to get glittered up with your little princesses

I'm trying to figure this out too -- I made dd an appointment, and she's very excited about it, but I'm not sure I want to lose half a day getting there, getting the hair done, and getting back...

Does the castle package also take about 45 minutes? And are the dresses there of any different quality than those at Target or Walmart? I've seen some in the disney catalog which look a little fancier, but if they're the same I'd rather bring one from home. I'm thinking of doing the castle package as a special gift for DD's 5th birthday.

Hope it's OK to ask these questions on your thread!

The dresses at Disney are a little fancier, but they are also A LOT more expensive. My DD wore a dress we got from home.

You will lose half a day! I'm glad we did it, but we won't do it again. It's worth doing once since they are only little for so long.......

hmm... would it be worth it to take a cab there and back? is it easy to get a cab at disney?
I'm thinking about trying to do her appointment in the afternoon and we can leave daddy and the baby taking a nap -- I wonder if a 2:30ish appointment would work, and then we could meet our family at Cinderella's Feast at about 5?
hmmm....
I wish they had just put the boutique in MK.

She had a 2:10 appointment and then a 4:30 ressies at PF. I had my own car and made it no problem. She fell asleep in the car (very rare for her) and when I parked that GF I let her sleep for another 10 minutes. We also had about 10 minutes to walk around the lobby and chatted with some other little girls who went to BBB the same day.
