they have the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique... for little girls, what kind of speical thing can we do for our boys?

I am the mother of a DS7 (will be 8 by our sept trip) HELP :grouphug:

Boys (and tomboys) have the Adventure Room at World of Disney, which is pirate-themed. I'm actually looking forward to visiting the Adventure Room, but Bibbity Bobbiti Boutique doesn't do anything for me.

'Ears some info from All Ears Net.

Its also my understanding that they have a great Barbershop on Main st in the Magic Kingdom, they sometimes have a barbershop quartet in there, and they make somekind of neon/gel mickey ears in their hair from some of the pics I have seen, It looked like a cool thing for boys. The stuff I have read say that a lot of people take their little ones there for their first haircut, they have some kind of cool deal thing for that as well. I am sure someone here can give you way more info though

It just does not seem that Disney has as much for boys as they do for girls-and I know many others will agree on this board. Most character breakfasts are geared toward girls, even the Disney Store is 75% girl right now. We have not missed a Disney on Ice show in 5 years with our now 7 year old son-but this year we got Princess Classics-that 5 year streak is now over.

We still visit Disney and our DS in still in the Buzz and Woody stage, but the offerings for boys just do not seem to be prevalent as those for girls.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

Two New Restaurants Announced for Walt Disney World Resort

I just read this found it on allearsnet, at least this would be good for boys . . .

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World guests will have two new restaurants on their menu of choices when they visit Disney's Animal Kingdom starting in late summer 2007 and Downtown Disney in early 2008 (dates subject to change).

The new restaurants were announced by Landry's Restaurants, which currently operates the Rainforest Café locations at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

At Downtown Disney, guests will be able to dine face-to-face with a dinosaur at a new restaurant called T-Rex. The venue will combine table-service dining and retail in an interactive prehistoric environment built around water, fire and ice. Guests visiting the restaurant will be greeted by life-size dinosaurs amidst cascading waterfalls, bubbling geysers and a fossil dig site.

I completely agree! They are actually finishing up one of those T-Rex restaurants very near me. I am curious to see what it is like.

Your post got me to thinking....Our oldest is a girl so we haven't been looking for much boy stuff but our ds is now 5 so I thought I'd look more closely. While they do have CRT and PSB which are princess and 1900 Park Faire is either Mary Poppins at breakfast or Cindy for dinner the rest of the character dining is fairly gender neutral. I would love if they did a boy marketed one but there is still Crystal Palace, LTT, Garden Grill, Donald's Breakfast, Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey, Ohana and the Swan. There is also the Pirate Cruise that would be great for boys. And, lastly the Family Magic tour is a Peter Pan theme.

I think sometimes you just have to look a bit harder, the girls' stuff is marketed more but there is stuff out there for boys.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that they come up with a boy theme meal.

There has been a rumor circulating on the Dining Forum for 2 or 3 months now about a Toy Story Themed character meal coming to Disney Studios. No confirmation yet.

I called the boutique on Sun. to make a reservation for my daughter. I told the cm that we also had a 9 yr. old boy traveling with us (my SiL's grandson, never been to any theme park it's a surprise!) and she said that they do boy's hair there, like they do at the barber shop on Main St. So, if your little boys are ok with all the pink, they may enjoy having their hair colored and pixie dusted. I booked it for our little guy, not sure if we'll keep it or not, he's a little older.

There have been a number of rumors about a TS themed meal at H&V in MGM. Some people had reported (perhaps on Our Laughing Place) that they were trying out for different roles. Hopefully there will be some official word soon.

A couple of things I wanted to mention, the Harmony Barber Shop at the MK is a great place for anyone to get a haircut or just have a neat style done with colored gel & pixie dust (colored confetti/some Mickey head glitter). Not just for boys or girls or adults.

Also--the Family Magic Tour is usually a Peter Pan theme, however, it has also been done with Mulan/Mushu and also with Aladdin/Princess Jasmine so don't count on the Capt Hook, PP, & Wendy tour as it is not guaranteed.

There is always the Pirate Cruise , the Albatross, Islands of the Caribbean, or Sassagoula Riber Adventure Cruise . Again, not just for boys, but they would sure enjoy them!

Depending on the child's interest, there is always mini-golf, Junior Fishing Excursions, Surfing Class at TL, or one of the many behind-the-scenes tours that are offered might be of interest.

When all else fails, Disney Quest!

What about Disney Quest??? This is a favorite for my DS(7) and I know he can't wait to go back there!!! I have the same problem, as I have an appointment at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique for my DD(3) and have to figure out something for my DS to do in the meantime with DH. Right now the choices are Fishing at POR, Minigolf, or the pools.

Thanks for this thread!
We're doing our last 3 days at Universal this time around because there are more things to our DS's 5 liking. Superhero's, Nicktoons- and Spiderman at breakfast! Come on Disney! Wouldn't you rather have those 3 days of our hotel, tix and spending money??? :confused3
