I wasn't planning on this for my nieces, but am wondering if I am setting myself up for them to see other girls dolled up and wanting to do it themselves, but all reservations being gone. This will probably be the only time they go and we are there a short period of time (2 to 3 days). I'll be making all of the reservations and wonder if I should try to get in when we get to the timeframe where I could book. I know I've been since it opened but it was without children and I wasn't really looking out for it, though I remember seeing a few kids that have obviously been there.

Skip it ....don't spend a few hours doing that when you only have 2 to 3 days there. Go to the Disney store ahead of time and buy a couple of costumes for them to wear. Maybe get hair clips and put their hair up yourself. They will get called princess everywhere they go and will love it!

If you really think this is the only time they will get to go to Disney and you think it would be something they would enjoy, I would at least look into it.

We did it for my daughter's 5th birthday and I will say it was one of the highlights of our whole trip and she still talks and talks about it. Definitely a big memory for her.

The girls may not remember every ride they go on or every show they see, but they would definitely remember the BBB experience :-)

I can't tell you if they will react to seeing others with makeovers. My daughter did on our first trip; but she quickly got past it. I also was pretty sure that wouldn't be our only time there while she was in the age limit.

If you want to do it, and the booking time frame has not arrived, I would call at 7am on the first day you can and try to get them 8am appointments. That way the activity doesn't take up park time since you only have a limited amount.

Like another poster said though they can always dress up without getting the makeover. You can even buy the same tiara that girls get during the makeover across from the Castle at Castle Couture (sp?) and put their hair up. I think there are youtube videos that even show how to do the BBB styles. I have also seen girls come by BBB and just get their hair sprinkled.

My only concern for you is the brevity of your trip. I we were going to Disney and would only be there for 2 or 3 days, I wouldn't want to spend the time in the BBB.

I would be more likely to buy princess dresses and jewelry and surprise them in the room - doll them up before heading to the parks...

We skipped it last time and DD was fine with getting dressed up and hair done in the room. The CMs still gave her some special acknowledgements. This time we are going to try it. I agree with pp that if you want to try go for the pre park ressies at 8. But do call at 7 eastern time. They go FAST!

I think I will at least see if I can get the 8am reservation - if not perhaps that is a sign. We'll only have a Friday and Saturday at the park, though I'm debating getting tickets to MVMCP the Thursday we drive down. Not sure if it is realistic to expect kids (or heck, even the adults) to be up for driving 6 to 7 hours and then going to the park for the evening.

Check out YouTube videos and practice on their hair before you go. I did this for my niece and save a lot of money and time. We bought the tiara at the shop by VotLM. It was about $10 a few years ago.

I know I posted on other peoples threads about BBB and left some links to the better YouTube videos on how they do it. You can do a search if you are interested in doing it yourself. My niece got a lot of compliments on her hair. I did it a bit different as she had so much curly hair I didn't want the bun too big. I left some hair coming down from the bun in curls.

Another idea....Last year I braided my daughter's hair like Elsa and frozen t-shirts..

If your concern is having to walk amongst tons of fancy princesses, I wouldn't worry. I hardly recall seeing any during our visit two years ago.

Things might open up closer to your dates. I would call every day and check. Early mornings are the best by far. A few years ago we had a 4:00 reservation and they were running behind so my dd didn't even get in the chair until over an hour later.

It is a really sweet experience. But honestly, my two girls wore their Disney Store costumes almost every day and were still given the royal treatment by the CM's.

We went last year and I might've noticed one or two. But my daughter didn't notice at all. The CMs still treated her so special in her Cinderella dress.
