I was looking at the package choices and I was wondering if pictures can be done without the purchase of the gown? I would like to get the middle package but would like to include a picture package. Does anyone know if that is possible? Thanks!

Lisa

Well I did BBB and since I'm 38 I did not get a dress. LOL Nor did I purchase dresses for my girls, we just had the Coach package (hair, makeup, lots of glitter and some jewelry for our faces) and we did the photos as well. I also had them on photopass and when I got home I added borders to them before ordering. :) So, the answer is yes, you can do photos with any of the 3 packages.

Also sorry for hijacking - but have a ??? regarding BBB. DD and myself have short hair would they still be able to give us a hair do? I don't want to spend the $$$ if they won't do anything with short hair. DD can be pulled into a pony tail but not much more. DD so wants to become a princessprincess: but I can't do the whole thing.

Thinking might treat us to this well DS and DH take a break.

Thank.

I was told you can pay $30 and add the photos onto one of the other packages if there is an available time slot. I don't think they reserve your photo time in advance so you have to wait until the day of and ask when you are there. But, that may not be correct. Give the reservation line a call and talk to someone there. (714) 781-7895

I think I already replied to you but I'll do it again. :) Yes, they will be able to do your hair, it may take more gel but it will work.

I didn't reserve a photo time but we had no problems getting ours done, we were in and out in about an hour (60-70 min) and that was 3 styles and photos after.

You can get their hair done at the Princess Fantasy Fair instead. If you get their hair and "makeup" done first, then go thru the princess meet n greet, the photopass people take their pictures w/ the princesses! And you dont have to buy a gown.

They dont talk about it much on the DL website (I dont know why?!) but heres the link:

Here is another link that goes more into detail:

They do so much fun stuff, my DD and I spent over 3 hours there one morning!!! (this is a great time for the guys to split up and go do the Jedi Training or go on some of the scarier rides!)

They have a huge area with salon chairs and mirrors and you can look through their book and pick out a pretty hairstyle with glitter and curls and/or face painting "makeup". I think the hair is about $30 and the m/u is $15. You dont need a reservation, but you may have to wait a little bit if there is a line. I'd do that first then stand in line for the princess meet and greet. There will be 3 princesses there who you get to talk to and take pictures with (this line takes forever and a day, but its worth it imo). After you can do Princess storybook time by the stage, knights and princess training, arts n crafts, etc.

Oh, there is also a store where you can buy princess gowns and accessories if you so choose, but its not required. :)

It is my understanding that they closed the shop by the PFF and now it is the new BBB by the castle.

Yes this is correct. The dresses are now in the same store as the BBB. Honestly, the price for the BBB isn't that bad, the 2 "basic" packages are $45.95 & $49.95, the package that is pricey is the full package that includes an outfit and photos. BBB is a really fun experience, I really can't say who had more fun, me or the girls! LOL

I think that the BBB was totally worth the money. My girls got the $50 packages and then had a shared photo shoot. So for hair, makeup, nails, professional sitting in Cinderellas coach and a forest setting (with prints, plus it's added to your photopass, plus you can take your own pics in the sitting), plus a sash, a little purse to keep their stuff in (they get to keep all of the items that were used on them) and lots of glitter and magic, it was only $65 for each of them. A steal, especially at DLR.

To answer the question about short hair, they use hair pieces, which they offer in various colors and styles, so with most of the styles they put the child's hair into a little bun anyway or up in little twists, and then mostly style the hairpiece. I think that as long as your child has enough hair to put into a ponytail, you will be just fine.

ETA: Oh, and those photos were taken with my not-so-great camera. Those aren't the pro photopass ones.

As of a couple of weeks ago they were still selling lots of Princess merchandise at Princess Fantasy Faire. I think they had a pretty similar selection compared to what was for sale in the Boutique.

We were just there today for DD's 4th birthday. The only place to do hair and makeup is the BBB. The shop by the Princess Faire is only doing face painting now. In fact, only about 1/3 of the chairs were even open (had the covers taken off the mirrors.) As for merchandise, we got DD's Snow White outfit and accessories there, they had almost everything you could find at the BBB, excluding the sleepware and some of the other goodies. All the main stuff was there.

The BBB was a great experience - we did the middle package ($49.) The only difference between that and the 1st is the addition of nails for $5 more. My son was turned into a knight (hair spiked, colored and glittered, Mickey on the back and a sword and shield) for $13.95. Well worth it. DD had a wonderful time, even though the power flickered a few times while we were there (Tinkerbell did it - DD even said she saw her. I heard they had some serious power issues yesterday in some areas, causing rides to be shut down.)

Something I didn't realize is that they send everything home with you in a BBB backpack - brush, makeup, bling tattoos & nail polish. So we can recreate the look every time we go (we have APs.) Bonus!

We did not do the formal pictures, but they told us that we could talk to our fairy godmother in training if we wanted to add them. The photo pass ones were great, though.
