Hi everyone! I am a DCP Fall Advantage 2013 Alum that was a Fairy Godmother at the Boutique! If any of you have any questions about the boutique or the CP in general I'd love to help! :D

Hi!

I'm really interested in applying for the CP and wanted to work Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique if I did!

How did you get to be the Fairy Godmother at the Boutique? Did you enjoy it??Also, are there other jobs you can get at the Boutique?? Thanks!! :)

I am also a former fairy godmother CP and would like to chime in if I could?

Stitch101: The Boutique is the hardest and most sought after female role in the college program but it was super fun!

I was a fairy godmother who did the hair, makeup, and nails for the princesses and princes that came to the boutique. I learned all three of the hairstyles at the time ( I think there's four now) and I also learned how to apply the makeup and do the nails.

The other role that you can have at the boutique is cashier but that's a merchandising role. The cashiers don't do the hair makeup or nails.

I also was trained in how to work the podium (checking in princesses, taking numbers for reservations, etc). I worked primarily at the Downtown Disney location but did have the opportunity to work in the castle at MK. I LOVED the castle shifts. They were super fun!

:tinker:

Do you have any idea how many of the people working at the BBB are Disney CM and how many are CP's? I hear it is quite competitive. What do you think Disney is looking for most in a candidate for BBB CP?

A good chunk of the CM's that worked at the boutique during my CP were either full time, part time, or seasonal and about a handful were in the college program. Its one of those roles that is very hard and very sought after to get (next to an entertainment role or working at haunted mansion or tower of terror).

When I applied to the college program I had had tons of experience working with kids (you don't always have to), I had been in theater, dance, and skating so I knew how to do hair and make up (once again, you don't always have to but it helps), and I had also had experience playing a part (you have to play it up BIG at the boutique).

I think Disney looks for the following when looking for boutique:

-Female (that's a big one)
-able to keep their "character"
-upbeat, whimsical personality with some sparkle.
-patient but able to multitask and multitask quickly.
-being able to think on your toes. You could get a Princess in your chair that falls asleep while doing the hair (I've had that happen quite a few times), has a tantrum, is shy, is scared, won't talk, speaks another language. ANYTHING could and will be thrown at you so it helps to be good at improvising.

Don't be afraid to really let the personality shine and come out in the interview. That will really help!

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

OP [PixieDustPrincess] Any tips on your end of experience? Where did you work?
