On our last visit my girls really wanted to go to the bbb, but I didn't make a reservation and there were no openings...so this time I have my reservation set for my girls :) Does anyone think the $180 is worth it? Pricing everything separate seems to me like it would add up pretty close to that amount...with the costume...pics..etc. I do have some costumes already , really nice ones from the disney store, cinderella, sleeping beauty which would be good for my younger ones but my oldest dd wants to be Jasmine and we do not won a Jasmine costume.... and also how long does the appt. last roughly, the girls appt. is at 5 so not sure what to do with my husband and boys while the girls are at the bbb....

I have a suggestion totally separate from the BBB.

Have you looked at The Pirates League, in MK ? We took our 3 last Christmas and it was awesome !

They have 2 creations for girls, Pirate Princess or Mermaid, and there are about 8 for boys/guys.

My dd got the mermaid and it lasted all day long.

It was very neat place, and all the ladies and lads were having a great time.

Best of all, the prices are around $30-35 for each kid.

My sister skipped BBB for Pirate's league for her 2 dd's so son could be involved too. The little girl (4) wore her little mermaid costume and was a 'mermaid princess' and the older dd (9) and ds (7) did the pirate makeup. They also did the pirate parade at 4ish in POC square and were inducted as Pirate's aftwerward. They loved their swords and 'secret' medallion so much they wore them and carried them all week at Disney and onto our Royal Carrib cruise the next week and it was only $35 pp. Mermaid princess wore her special mermaid hair clip for formal night on the ship as well. She chose to nix BBB because they said to be there early and the appt could take up to 2 hours if they were running behind, she didn't want to eat up that much of our day.

We have done BBB twice when DD was 6 and 9. We did the basic package both times. We brought a dress from home both times. She was treated very special both times. She choose the princess hairdo with the bun. It stayed up for days since we didn't swim.
The pictures are priceless.

Thanks for the replies, where is this place located in MK? sounds very nice

Next to POTC. My dd loved it.

Worth of BBB depends on your child, for one of my kids no she hates girly, glittery things and would be miserable if I even tried to take her. The other one would probably find the dress itchy after awhile so would want to take it off. I seriously considered it and in the end decided not to do it. For some girls it's the best thing that ever happened to them. My friends daughter still talks about it a year later.

One trip I had the girls pixie dusted in the barber shop and another year did the pirate league for my younger dd for her birthday.

I would buy the costumes separately, maybe from the Disney store online or your local store.....it's the same cost as in the park but then you aren't paying out all at once :-) (or try eBay etc.). The experience is worth it in my book to do it once. My then DD6 & DD7 both did it and it was wonderful. This year I think we will try the Pirate adventure mermaid princess. -If you do BBB take a lot of your own pictures! There is a photo pass photographer taking pics the whole time however the pics are quite costly. Enjoy!!

The pirates league sounds AWESOME, but this time i better stick with BBB since my girls have been looking forward to it :) I will plan the pl for next visit for sure though, my boys are 12 and 15 so they are prob too old for it though but my girls 8 and 5 and my niece...who is 3 but not sure if she is coming on our next trip w us will love it sounds like
:( even though my 12 year old did say he would get his hair styled and the sword at the bbb, he was half joking though as he said it ...lol...he is in the so in between kid and teen age..... :) I am so looking forward to our July trip because the kids are at such great ages to appreciate all the fun stuff :) I am glad I found this board b/c my friends either have not been to disney or do not absolutely love it the way I do :)

Pirates League does makeup for all ages up through adult. Your whole family could do it at the same time.

I thought it was worth it when we did it for our then 4 year old that was PRINCESS crazy! she says when we go back she wants to do it again - and shes now 9 :)

Last time we did the castle package and just wore a Disney dress from the store, which is less expensive. It was totally worth it!

We did the crown package last time and brought a dress I bought on sale from the Disney store. We will be doing the same thing this time. Totally worth it for my princess!

We have done the whole shebang twice..with 2 differeent DGD (parents paid, not grandma..well, I paid to get the AP discount then they paid me back)I loved how the Fairy Godmother helped them choose everything and then they went in the special dressing room and poof! Princess. Yes, very expensive but totally worth it. Younger DGD already announced she wants to be Ariel this time so parents are planning ahead. The whole family is going so probably all 4 will want to do this..2 of the girls have never done so if parents can't swing it (and they are the ones who make the most but burn through it the fastest, then I will probably swing for it) They are only wanting to be Princesses a short time so for me it is worth every penny. Our visits have only taken about 45 minutes each.

If your daughters are into the Princesses and love to dress up, then it is totally worth it.
My DD has outgrown the BBB and now does the Pirates League. She loves it but they never have the mermaid costume nor the girl's pirate costume in her size 10-12.
One thing she really loved about BBB was being able to pick out her outfit, having it laid out for her in the dressing room and changing there.

We did the huge package for are oldest at BB. But we did PL for our youngest dd in 2011. Both of the girls preferred the PL and so did my wallet! With buying the photos it was around 100.00 for both girls. We didn't do it last year but are booked for the mermaid package this year. :thumbsup2

BBB is expensive, but what isn't at Disney? It is by far the best money I have spent. I usually take my kids around my daughter's birthday each year, and I try to do BBB on her birthday. She still talks about the first time she did it which was so long ago to her (3 years). All the characters start calling the girl princess, and all the cast members play along with the outfit. It is just great. I took video of the whole thing form picking out the outfit, to the coming out of the dressing room, to being made up, and the final touches of pixie dust. It is magical for a child, and if I'm being honest the first time we did it I was pretty captivated by the whole thing.

In addition the bus drivers put on special announcements on the bus something to the effect of: "Ladies and Gentlemen, please be on your best behavior. We are traveling with a Disney princess today." All the passengers play along and say hi to your princess etc.

Is it expensive? Yes! Is it worth the memory? YES!!!

My dd 4 did it and again at 6 maybe. Still is dying to do it again. They really do it up. The dress is not the pressing part ( but the priciest ). If you want the costume anyway do it,otherwise bring a costume alternative n do hair/ make up. Well worth the perfect park pics for 2-4 days depending on swimming.

Your posts are making me even more excited for this!!!!! It does sound so magical... I am leaning towards one of the $180 packages as I do need a jasmine costume for my oldest dd and the ones I like are $50 plus shipping on ebay so doing the math it would make the most sense to get it there. My 5 year old dd wants to bring her sleeping beauty costume from home which she loves and my sister said she will use one of her snow whites costume from home for my 3 year old niece.

We are doing 2x BBB and 2x PL for our DD on our upcoming trip. She has LOADS of princess and other dress up costumes so we are bringing those with us and opting for the basic package each time. All in the 4 appointments should cost around $200 which I certainly do not mind as all will be very much appreciated and as we are there for 3 weeks I feel this is more worth it than just the one time for her (which we would have done if we went for the top package!) Aside from all this I wanted to point out that if you do PhotoPass+ then I am almost certain you get the Imaging Packages that you can pay for added to your PhotoPass+ for free. (Please correct me if I am wrong, I am so sure I read that somewhere and it's been a big factor for us taking the PhotoPass+!) :)

We will be taking a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old girl, is the BBB worth it for those ages?
