Last night I had to start Biaxin for a sinus infection that just won't go away. Is there a way to get rid of the bad taste in my mouth? Or is there a way to keep it from happening? I've been sucking on peppermints but those only last so long and I don't want them ALL day long. It is a nasty taste to wake up to in the middle of the night too.

One thing says this side effect only occurs in up to 7% of people. I don't know if I believe that.

Nightmares are also a side effect. I didn't see that on my leaflet last night. I'm glad to know it now because I had some last night.

This metallic taste happens to my son when he takes it. Our pharmacist said to take the pill with orange juice. He also said to drink OJ when the taste comes back. Also to eat yogurt daily. The OJ really helped a lot.

According to the pharmaceutical reps (I'm a Dr), drinking orange juice should help with the bad taste. I have taken that medication, and I don't get the bad taste, so, I didn't try out the orange juice method. Neither do my son or husband. Also, the lower dose formulation is less likely to cause the bad taste, so for many indications, I prescribe the lower dose. It does the job with fewer side effects. But, of course, you have no control over the formulation prescribed.

Thank you! Do you know how much OJ I should drink with it? I shouldn't drink OJ but I'm willing to drink a little.

My fridge is filled with yogurt. ;)
