I just noticed today on the Disney website that what used to be called "garden suites/cottages' at the Boardwalk Inn has been changed to "outer building garden room". They used to sleep 4 people, but it has changed to accommodating only two. Anyone know why this change was made??

I don't know why they opted for an occupancy reduction. JMO- Possibly because there really is only one bed, and they aren't all that great a fit for families or groups. Maybe they are going to work harder to market them to honeymooners, which is a great use.

I do think it's good that WDW now tells folks where these rooms are. Some folks don't mind the outside to inside hike to the lounge, others are not very happily surprised. It's probably OK when the weather is nice, not so good when it's pouring. ;)

"Cottages" just sounded so much more inviting! We had stayed there as a party of 5 (2 under two) & so enjoyed it! But, you're right--when the sofa is made into a bed it eats up all the downstairs space.
