Go out and get "Becky Higgins' Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking" right now!! I got one for Christmas and it's great! She has all these layout ideas and the best part is they are arranged according to how many photos you have!!:hyper: Up to 10+ photos!!
This is great for somebody like me- I tend to do the same layout over and over or just get overwhelmed. So if I have 6 photos I go to the "6 photos" section. And then there are several layouts to use as a guide. No more "stuck in a rut, can't get going" excuses for me!
:D

I use her formula a lot in my books. You can also turn them up side down and get a whole other group of ideas.

I used it last night. I had to do a 1 page layout...and for some reason I was stuck, because I'm so used to doing 2 pages. I just found a layout where one of the pages worked for me.

Tonight.... I'll be finishing the embellishing....and it will be back to her book for some ideas I'm sure.

Two thumbs up!

When they first had these on the CK site, I printed them off. I love them!! I got the magazine as soon as it came out (and I still keep those dog eared sketches in there just because). I always have it out... I agree... 2 thumbs up!!

I thumbed through the book the other day at my LSS. It looked really good but it was quite expensive...$24 CDN I believe. So what I did was copied and pasted the ones they had online and saved it in Word. I found 15 different sketches online!

If you would like a copy of this, let me know and I can e-mail it to you if you'd like.

I also have all the CK issues for the past 2 years and they are in there as well.

nicki,
great idea about turning them upside down!!!

I bought the book, though haven't used it yet, with a 50% off coupon over the holidays. But I long before the book came out I found somewhere on the internet over 70 sketches that I've saved to a word document. If anyone wants a copy let me know. I'd be happy to share.

Another idea to get more ideas out of the sketches is to mix 'n match two-page layouts. Just because BH drew a particular set of pages together doesn't mean you can't switch them around to better fit your needs.

I bought the book too and I love it. I have actually used it a couple times in the pat week and they are some of my favorite pages I have ever done. Great idea about mixing and matching layouts. I never would have thought of that.

Thanks.

You e-mail through the DIS here or PM me and I'll send you my address.

Thanks a bunch.

Laura look in the DIS scrap addicts files -
I downloaded them all there - I have a ton of them -
I had printed them out and put them in a binder so I always have them -

I also Love my Creative Companion - I got it with the 50% off coupon and it has proven to be a good buy! Lots of ideas!

I'd be interested in this link too! I love BH... She is my favorite. I bought the book the first day it came out. The best idea book I have ever bought....

Just wanted to let you know, last night I went through the file I have with all the sketches and found that all 74 of them are the same as the "index" of sketches at the back of the Creative Sketches book. I guess the only advantage of having the book then is the layout examples, which of course I hoard. :hyper:

Hi - well I haven't been ignoring you all -
I have been searching for the dang site I got them from -
I thought it was 'creative companion' but I can't find them and I must have deleted it from my 'favorite' list!
I put out an APB on another board - so hopefully someone knows! ;)

It was in My creative companion. I had it bookmarked. When I just now clicked on it I got a message that read This menu has been disabled. hmmmm
